Lamentum is another crowdfunding success story, as the very freaky looking pixel art survival horror has hit the funding goal on Kickstarter. Linux support is fully confirmed for Lamentum, as stated on both the Kickstarter and Steam store pages.

Against their goal of €15,000 they managed to only just scrape by with €60 over the target. I can't imagine what a huge relief that would be for the developer, Obscure Tales, as it must have been quite dicey towards the end of the campaign.

In Lamentum you will guide Victor, a young aristocrat, who will embark on a desperate journey to find a cure for a rare disease. Our last hope resides in a dark mansion governed by an earl capable of granting any wish, but… At what price? The Grau Hill mansion will open its doors and immerse us in a world of nightmares where we can be trapped forever. Lamentum is a pixel art survival-horror game set in New England in the mid-nineteenth century. To solve the dark secret that is hidden in the depths of the mansion of Grau Hill, you will have to immerse yourself in a nightmare world full of terrible creatures.

I will admit, I can see myself squirming a little while playing this, it looks delightfully weird and actually a little bit scary which is impressive for such a pixel-art style. Take a look for yourself:

Looks impressive. They don't mention anything about DRM-free release, hopefully they'll do it.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Eitr to finally come out. They said something about August 1 2019, but so far it's not clear if it will happen.
