Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac is an upcoming in-development point and click adventure game, one that I came across recently and it's well worth taking a look at the demo.

Seems it's one entirely missed by us here at GamingOnLinux, with it appearing on Steam earlier this year and a Linux demo being added back in May.

You are eccentric outcast Edgar, living in the woods with your chicken and beloved squash crops. Unfortunately, a sudden disaster forces you out of your shack and towards the bright lights of the big city, Boulzac, where an 800 year old fire rages beneath the surface, and weird things are afoot.

Given some of the sad news announced this week, it seems like a good time to dive into a little comedy to put a smile on your faces. The writing here is mostly brilliant, honestly I'm still smirking now as I type this from some of it.

You can see a trailer below, while it's for the Xbox One & Nintendo Switch announcements it doesn't really change anything and is exactly as the game looks on Linux:

While it is a point and click game, it's not entirely the same as the classics. You do control your character directly with movement keys while interactions are done with the mouse. Not a huge difference but it has the usual features you would expect like little puzzles to solve and items to hunt for.

The actual puzzles are quite good too, not brain-melting stuff and mostly about talking to the right people and getting the right items, but it's what you're doing that's so silly it's brilliant. I enjoy a good point and click adventure and this is quite special. When you get to meet the old lady, I will admit I was so surprised by what she was doing I let out an audible chuckle. Even for a demo, it has a good amount of content and that cliffhanger of an ending—damn I need more of this.

What makes it super sweet though apart from the wonderful cartoon art style, is the clear love Edgar has for his chicken—Booook!

Try the demo on Steam. No current release date, will let you know when they announce one officially on Steam.

"Watt.hour^-1" is "Watt per hour" and totally doesn't make sense.
Then again Watt x hour is energy not power.
I don't get that bubble.

That's because it's carrot.watt.hour^-1, completely different thing!

Perhaps it’s (carrot × hour¯¹) × Watt – carrots per hour times Watts? Not sure what that’d mean either though.

3 Watts per a carrot per hour (3 W/(carrot × hour¯¹)) would make more sense – a rabbit needs to eat one carrot every hour to continuously generate 3 W.

Clearly, ^-1 is a footnote that’s on the previous screen!

Obviously it's the speed in which the watt.carrot increases. And that speed is 3. Sheez.
