What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

By - | Views: 28,018

It's the weekend and the sun is out, so naturally many of us will be staring at a bright screen playing the latest and greatest Linux games.

I tend to go through phases of being attached to specific games for a few weeks before utterly burning myself out on them, currently Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has managed to hook me back in. It's not exactly the newest game, but it still has such fluid and fun gameplay that there's still really nothing else like it in the shooter scene.

HITMAN is also tempted me back once more, since I've never actually gone through the Patient Zero bonus campaign. With HITMAN 2 being announced, I feel like I need to get my practice down in case Feral Interactive say they're porting it to Linux again (they sadly haven't—yet). It would be odd if they didn't, since HITMAN seemed to be quite a popular game with Linux gamers.

Caves of Qud has also been amusing me lately, such a great story maker. I won't tell you how many times I've died…

So many games, so little time. Choosing what to play does become a real issue, with an insane amount of great quality games on Linux—there's truly never been a better time for us.

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

I will be playing The Dwarves, Hatnix streams hook me up and I like the sort of "LoTR" style. The narrative, the combat, the voice acting, everything, feels so epic.

CS:GO mostly. Even though it is not that much fun playing alone, but I wanna be the king of the game ofc ;)
I might also torture myself with XCOM:WotC iron man mode until I get mad.

Neverwinter Nights. The Linux scaling bug is fixed, now I'm going through the official campaigns again for the first time in ten years. It's fun - the game really holds up quite well.

Warhammer40K: Gladius - Relics of War.
It's brilliant fun. Sending waves after waves of your own men equipped with flashlights until the kill limits of necron warriors are reached.

Dead Cells; normally not a style of game that would interest me but it's a genre-bending triumph. I'm also playing Into the Breach periodically throughout the day; I can't wait for the actual native Linux build.

Well, Desparados was just released on Linux so it's a great occasion to retry to finish the game. I'll take a pinch of Mother Russia Bleed too for more frantic action.

I'm playing Eternal Darkness using the Dolphin emulator. I don't have much time for anything else on Linux right now. :(
