Unity 3D Linux support announced
forces Jun 18, 2012
Unity 3D, a widely used game engine, will have native Linux support along with Flash export in the next version (Unity 4).

QuotePublish to Linux and a market ripe for awesome Unity games

The most requested feature from our community has arrived! Port your standalone desktop indie game to Linux with Unity 4. Linux games are thriving even though the platform is comparatively underserved. The success of distribution initiatives, such as the Humble Indie Bundle and the Ubuntu Software Center, prove that Linux users are happy to pay for games. Linux standalone publishing will be available for all Unity Desktop users at no additional cost. Take your game to Linux, and an audience eager for high-quality entertainment.

Well, this certainly is good news, because many developers are starting to use Unity. One of the great examples of Unity is the just released game Reciever from Wolfire Games that was made during the 7DFPS event, along with a few games from Humble Bundles, which were avaible only through the beta verson of the flash exporter.
