As far as the faster cards go: Not taking inflation into account, I don't think I'll ever spend $400+ on a graphics card. I bought a $500 card like twelve years ago and it started acting up a year later. It was also only worth about $250 after one year if it would have been in great condition. I gave it to my dad back then for free. What a letdown. Since then, I don't think I've even gone into the $300 range.

I haven't seen those prices for ages though. Rx580 is still from £280 to £400 and Vega 56/62 nothing cheaper than £490 :/

I see Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 for $479 on Newegg now. That's a bit overpriced still, but close to normal. That should be £375.12, unless somehow local prices are skewed as well.
