Did anyone tried to play with both Steam Controller and SteamPlay ?

Yes. They work fine together. Prey even uses back buttons of Steam Controller.

It works if the game supports well gamepad. If the game does not support gamepad, old games, you can still attribute keyboard keys to Steam Controller.

If you have kernel 4.19 or newer, you have to blacklist the 'hid_steam' steam controller kernel driver, then it works.
Also, some games have to be launched through the Big Picture Mode.
