DXUP now translating DX9 to DX11 to Vulkan
Avehicle7887 Feb 4, 2019
For those of you remember DXUP it was most widely known for translating DX10 to DX11 to Vulkan (with the help of DXVK). Over the past couple of days I've seen a few screenshots of Fallout: New Vegas running with the DXVK HUD and I was like "isn't that a DX9 game?"

After some scouting, it turns out that Joshua Ashton, the creator of DXUP is currently working on translating DX9 to DX11 to Vulkan (again with the help of DXVK). Might I add that currently the git page is bustling with activity. Git page: https://github.com/Joshua-Ashton/dxup/tree/d3d9-dev

I couldn't find many media about it yet but here's a video you might like (not my work): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjCWEEVXlAU

The project also changed the description to "A D3D9 and D3D10 -> D3D11 Translation Layer", wow!

How is the performance?

Not many games render correctly yet or crashing, at least the ones i have tried. But i hear Fallout Vegas runs and renders, no idea about perf though.

if you dont want to compile, you can try it from here: https://git.froggi.es/joshua/dxup/pipelines

It seems Joshua Ashton is now trying a different approach to make DX9 to Vulkan happen, I've spotted a new repo called "d9vk" and it's based off DXVK: https://github.com/Joshua-Ashton/d9vk
