Title: (Fixed)Discord mic input causing Ubuntu 18.04.1 Gnome to hang.
chui2ch 15 Feb 2019
Hi all, I recently moved to Ubuntu 18.04 gnome. Since I did discord is locking up my system when it detects mic input. Once all the mic is no longer receiving input the system works again. I can use discord in chrome/firefox and it's fine. I have tried the deb/flatpak/snap and I have tried the canary client. I have seen others post about a similar problem on reddit, but the only solution I have seen was to run discord as sudo. I do not plan on doing that. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Installing the xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04 package fixed the Discord problems I was having. The entire HWE stack can be installed with sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04.
