Maybe a poor choice of words there. RWS has been one of the most supportive developers that Linux has ever had, and one of the only ones to offer actual commercial support to their Linux versions, so I do not think asking for users to actually pay for their Linux versions is to much to ask, do you?
Of course, if you do not want to have to worry about specific platforms ever again you could always splurge and get the POSTAL 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition.

I might have to pick that up myself, my better half is a Mac user so it wouldn't hurt to have the OSX installers as well.
