[QUESTION] New Steam UI very slow
razing32 Nov 3, 2019
Has anyone else had issues with the new steam UI ?
It looks nice at first but it is VERY unresponsive for me
Almost always seems frozen
I can't scroll through games or search for one .
I always have to hit the Home button to wake it up so to speak before it seems to react to searching or scrolling for games.

I haven't had any more trouble than I had with the old interface, but try enabling (or disabling) GPU accelerated rendering in Settings -> Interface. Maybe it's a rendering issue.

The client is often quite janky, but that's been the case as long as I've used Steam.

Just go to settings -> Library and enable all of them (low bandwidth , low performance mode , community content)

Setting it to low seems to have done the trick for now.
Thanks for the tips everyone

I was downloading something yesterday and the computer was practically unresponsive all the time, including the mouse pointer freezing for multiple seconds at a time. I'll try the settings mentioned above.
