The whole thing runs flawlessly on Proton7.
I think the game looks great, I have enjoyed the experience more than e.g. Frostpunk.
The comparison with Frostpunk is inevitable, but I think Ixion leaves the player more room for error and it's not so much doom and gloom.
There are only a few tracks in the demo, but I think the music is going to be great, probably one of the strong points of the game. If everything else goes wrong, I will get the soundtrack.
Nothing specific to IXION but there was a setting I had to change to play the demo through Steam. They don't seem to offer the same Steam Play compatibility tool settings as full game installations. Normally you can go to the product page, click the gear icon -> click manage -> compatibility -> check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatability tool".
For this game I had to click Steam -> Settings -> Steam Play -> check "Enable Steam Play for all other titles" and select a recent version of Proton.
Hope this helps the next person!
