I haven't had this happen with any other games, and I've also checked both the game's logs, and the kernel logs and haven't been able to find anything that could help me troubleshoot this issue, in fact, the kernel reports nothing at all when shutting down. I also thought about the possibility that my CPU is overheating, but after closely monitoring my temps while in-game, they have been quite low, and certainly nowhere near dangerous temperatures.
So... I don't quite know where to go from here as all my usual diagnosing methods have returned nothing.
These are my system specs:
