From the original creative team behind the Hand of Fate series, Hordes of Fate : A Hand of Fate Adventure is a mixture of deck-building and auto-shooting as yet another developer attempts to put their own spin on Vampire Survivor-like action.

I continue my quest to play every survivor-like bullet heaven game possible, and this could quite easily win me over with its nice world design along with the interesting deck-building mechanics to make it feel nice and fresh.

I especially like that the various encounters in the game are not all set in stone, it's all dynamic based on the cards you pick to set it all up. And, when you go to grab chests or do the encounters in the game, some of those are not a given and get you to pick from a set of cards that can result in success or failure. Some of them will give you multiple choice on the outcome too. So far, it seems like a really interesting blend that manages to feel familiar for anyone who has played a survivor-like yet different.

I had my doubts, but the card events do break up the monotony of the Survivors gameplay nicely, and the card movements are easier to track than they were in Hands of Fate, so it doesn't feel as random. Pretty good.
