We really are in the era of remasters aren't we? Sacred 2 Remaster was just recently revealed by THQ Nordic. It was announced during their recent publisher showcase event to show off their games.

It's being developed by Jumpgate AB and SparklingBit with THQ Nordic publishing. The remaster will come with all original expansions, a revamped UI, full controller support and more modern goodies you would expect from it. If you know nothing of the first game, you're in luck as it's actually a prequel so you don't need to know anything at all about the world it's in.

Oh, Sacred 2 uh?

This one is a little weird. When I found out about that game (on Steam), it turned to be… interesting looking, but with a lot of broken mechanics that didn't go anywhere or simply missed reasons to exist, broken interface, broken world map issues, broken dialogues, broken animations… lots of broken stuff. All I've seen from the design to some of the gameplay elements made me want to play it, but apparently, broken was the operative keyword and it was just gonna stay this way.

I'm sort of hyped by this; I'm sure there's a nice game under all that, and it would be great to be able to experience it.

Wasn't it just minutes ago that Embracer was in the final throes of dying itself, killing off traditional redundant studios left and right in a desperate attempt to catch a breath? Did they manage to pilfer enough subventions to somehow ensnare new studios after they closed off the experienced expensive redundant ones?
Oh yes, we really are in the age of re-masters. Please welcomeembrace our new re-masters.

At least this is one of those that really need a remaster, what a concept, what a soundtrack and an interesting world...

I just hope this is not gonna be another NWN2 job that does not deliver.

Imho the game had serous issues with level scaling everything, monster respawn and a excessive bloat of non-rewarding side quests.
I doubt the remaster will fix this though perhaps I will follow it. Had a few hours of fun with it back then.

I just hope they will not charge a full price for this one as it's just a remaster.

You took the words right from my mouth. That was my experience with the original Sacred games too. So much potential but poorly realized ...

Hopefully it will be a decent remaster, not a quick cash grab. Really wanted to buy NwN2 but they did a piss poor job at that.
