I couldn't help but giggle a fair bit at the actual full name - ACUVAC: A Suck and Blow Adventure. Yes, that's really the name of this one. A bit unfortunate perhaps, or is my mind just terrible? It's not just me right?

Releasing soon on August 20th, there's also a demo available you can try right now. Here's a little more about it: "Take control of ACUVAC, a physics-driven canister vacuum with a mind of its own, in a destructive cleaning adventure. Use your hose to suck up, blow away, and manipulate the world around you in unexpected ways. Uncover, clean, and conquer every corner of this whimsical, robot-run world where anything goes, and chaos is all part of the fun!"

Vacuum trash, smash objects, and creatively interact with environments to complete objectives. Be the overachiever and super-clean the level, clearing out every object in sight.

  • COLLECT:
Every unique object collected gets added to your own residence (Yes, ACUVAC has their own house!) Unlock new levels, arcade machines, and quirky cosmetics by earning medals and discovering hidden collectibles.

  • CONQUER:
Master every challenge across varied sandbox levels. Take on unique tasks, unlock loads of special bonus levels, and compete in local-multiplayer modes. There's plenty of challenge and lots of different surprises to uncover!

Had to chuckle at the first reply to the developer on Bluesky as well, on how you're basically the Noo-Noo from Teletubbies. A classic British young kids TV show that was just — weird. As for the game, looks like some quality physics fun to be had with this one. I look forward to swinging my hose around.

The movie Super Sucker is also a good vacuum related piece of media. "Homemaker's little helper" and all.

"Suck" or "Blow" references always reminds me of that (now ancient) Zero Punctuation review of Braid, where Yahtzee joked that he hoped Braid was a terrible game, so he could make the joke "Jonathan Blow, more like Jonathan Suck". emoji

I genuinely still smile every time I think of it.
