REMATCH continues to be my favourite sporty game because it doesn't feel like a sport, more like a strategy game and now it finally has cross-play.

After repeated delays due to issues players kept reporting during tests, even after the original delays where the features was skipped for the original release - it's here, right now! This means you can team up with and play with other across all supported platforms now. However, they will not be adding cross-progression at this time.

Reporting nuisance players is also now a lot easier, with a built-in reporting system. You no longer have to capture their details and message them outside the game. Something that, let's face it, should have really been in the game from the beginning. It's a competitive game, it's a basic feature.

Lots of bug fixes also made it into the patch, along with some tweaks to various gameplay mechanics, new accessibility options, optimizations to improve performance, improvements to keyboard / mouse controls and much more. You can find everything in the patch notes they originally posted at the end of August.

Hopefully with cross-play they will be able to pull some more players back in, as it dropped off quite a lot but still sees a peak of over 9,000 concurrent players on Steam most days.

REMATCH works great on Linux with Proton and is surprisingly good on Steam Deck too. Even with the Easy Anti-Cheat with is enabled for Linux. See more anti-cheat compatibility for Linux on our dedicated page.
