Clearly the developers at Brightrock Games are big fans of Kaiju No. 8, with the reveal of Kaiju Cleanup at the Tokyo Game Show. Brightrock Games previously made War for the Overworld and Galacticare so now they're trying their hand at something quite different.
A gross job, but someone has to do it right? You've all seen the movies and anime with massive creatures getting slain. Who exactly deals with the aftermath? You, in Kaiju Cleanup. You're on team KaijuCorp to help cleanup the disaster zones which includes slicing, dicing, clawing, slurping, and packaging up the bodies of massive monsters to leave the environment clean.
A more casual sim, even with the bloody setting, with you able to go at your own pace while you complete missions and customize your loadout. Check out the announcement trailer below:

"We’re thrilled to reveal our monster new IP Kaiju Cleanup today, in partnership with the hugely talented development team at Brightrock Games," said Stuart Morton, Publishing Director at Mythwright. "Kaiju Cleanup brings a new monster-sized twist to the beloved cleaning simulation genre, soaked with quirky humour and satisfying gameplay, and sprinkled with scenarios that Kaiju disaster fans are going to love."
The developers at Brightrock said: "For those of you who've been with us for a while, we know this is a departure from our usual faire and might come as a bit of a surprise! After Galacticare — which was a big project for us — we wanted to try our hands at something smaller, lighter, and… messier. Looking further into the future, we’ve also got some other projects in the works, including a return to our roots deep underground."
No release date has been announced yet but you can apply for the Steam Playtest.
Love the idea of this, and I had wondered how long it would be before we saw games do this setting, especially with the popularity of Kaiju No. 8 that just recently finished season 2 of the anime.
