Made in the spirit of the likes of Journey, Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch - Kinsfolk is a casual adventure about fatherhood. As the main character you embark on a journey to discover the meaning of family. Seems like a nice one if you're into slower-paced experiences.
Writing in a Steam announcement the developer noted:
I really enjoy using Linux (for my dev work) and Steam Deck for gaming. Since starting Kinsfolk 2 years ago I always wanted to support them properly. I am super happy to announce that the current Kinsfolk demo now runs natively on Linux, and has been optimized for Steam Deck!

The developer explained it on Reddit a bit better a few months ago: "In Kinsfolk there are no failure states, your only goal is to relax, explore the world and feel. I put a lot of emphasis on the voice, scenery and the music in the game so the player can get lost in the story. Throughout the world you will discover story pieces - vignettes - some of which you will be able to relive. This part was in big part inspired by What Remains of Edith Finch. While reliving these short stories in the past the game mechanics might change and you will have to figure out what to do while learning about the past."
