No Rest for the Wicked from Moon Studios is set for a huge upgrade on January 22nd, with the release of the co-op update titled No Rest for the Wicked Together. Overall it currently has a 79% Positive rating from players on Steam.

The way they've done the co-op play is an interesting one. It allows up to four players to share a free, persistent Realm without the need for a host to be online. Something in between a co-op game and a server, but for a small group that don't always have to be online at the same time.

In a press email the developer said that "Shared upgrades to No Rest's soulslike combat let enemies react naturally (and desperately) to being cornered or outnumbered, and new hand-picked enemy locations means plenty of new surprises" and also that "Players can work together during downtime to share and build housing, visit newly reworked vendors, and employ a simple voting system to keep fellow players from causing too much chaos. In addition to all the co-op multiplayer features, this latest update brings numerous quality-of-life updates to No Rest for the Wicked".

I discovered this game by accident just before Christmas, a couple of days into the co-op beta, and me and my three mates played it for over 50 hours over the Christmas period.

It's absolutely stunning. My Steam review goes into detail, but basically, even in early access, this game has launched itself into my (ever-changing) Top Ten Games of All Time.

I'm a sucker for fantasy RPGs, but the way they mix meaty combat, progression, and puzzles is sublime. The graphics and animations are simply five-star too. Incredible game.
