I am the owner of GamingOnLinux. After discovering Linux back in the days of Mandrake in 2003, I constantly checked on the progress of Linux until Ubuntu appeared on the scene and it helped me to really love it. You can reach me easily by emailing GamingOnLinux directly. You can also follow my personal adventures on Bluesky.
Wait...what? Yeah that's the best headline I could come up with. Mountain is available for Linux for $1 and promises 50 hours of watching a mountain do...stuff.
A very cute looking game has been released for Linux on Steam titled "Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake" and it actually looks quite decent. It's another Cartoon Network game (the other was Powerpuff Girls) which is interesting to see such a big name support Linux again.
Another Source engine powered game plans to support Linux soon with a migration to a more updated version of Source. Dino D-Day is touted as being like Counter Strike only with Nazi troopers and dinosaurs. If that didn't peak your interest then I don't know what will.
Here is the latest instalment of Steam's Hardware Survey, as usual we do our monthly thing and compare it and talk about it to make sure you know not to use it as a hard figure.
Shovel Knight is an awesome looking love letter to 8-bit games that was funded on Kickstarter some time ago. It had a Linux stretch goal that was hit and the developers have now teased it running on Linux.
Door Kickers is the excellent squad based strategy and tactics game from KillHouse Games we have shown you a few times here. They have released a big update to push the game into beta and it's a good one.
The Indie Box is something we briefly covered before that allows you to subscribe to receive a new game in the post every month boxed up with a bunch of goodies. This time we actually have a box with plenty of pictures for you to take a look at.
Eminence: Xander's Tales is a very interesting looking game that came across my inbox recently that is a mix between an RPG and a trading card game and it looks like the battles are quite good too.
Triggerfish Drill Sergeant is the first game from Anglerteam Games which puts you in charge of getting a bunch of fish into the right formation, and it's weird.
One of the funniest games around is now fully available and out of beta for Linux. Goat Simulator is pretty popular and for good reason, as it's just insanely stupid.
Today is a good day. I had the pleasure of speaking to Feral Interactive on their porting work for the Linux version of XCOM and games in general and here it is in all its glory.
Beyond Gravity is an interesting little mobile game turned desktop game that has you jumping from planet to planet collecting pick-ups. I say mobile game as it's one of those "tap to continue" type of games, but it's not actually bad.
