A new benchmark video shows Dota 2 with Vulkan performing better on Windows than Linux

So the guy from Valve gave this:
dota2 [-vulkan | -gl] +timedemo OctPerf +timedemo_start 46800 +timedemo_end 47000 +cl_showfps 2 +fps_max 0 -novconsole -noassert -nosound
I have downloaded the demo file he provided too, but where do I run that command exactly?

Quoting: GuestQuoting: liamdaweQuoting: mr-egg@Liam it would be nice to get some testing between the two from some people on here who have both OS. Or in some performance articles because if we always take our benchmarks from Phoronix or the MSM gaming press there probably never going to be right. As much as I would like to, it is very time consuming especially when I myself don't know the first thing about the Dota 2 command line benchmark tool.
If someone can PM me with details on how to do it easily, with a really heavy scene, then I can look at running a test on my 980ti on OpenGL, Vulkan across Windows and Linux myself.
This looks like a pretty reliable ... "Source". ;)

(Sorry, wasn't sure how to PM you. Also thought others might take up the challenge.)

Quoting: coruunWill think on it for future stuff.Quoting: liamdaweI always do, i note the update with bold Update text. But you don't mark the end of the update.
See for example this article on PCGamesN. They mark the update as Update [date] and the original story below as Original story. Something along these lines would be nice. :)

Could you maybe add a mark in the article, where the original news started (something like "Original story" )? I'm always reading the old part again...
Or you could somehow highlight, what the update is.

I added an additional bit:
I am starting to feel like the relationship between Deep Silver and Techland is becoming a bit strained. Techland recently announced they are becoming a publisher, so maybe it has ruffled the feathers of the people at Deep Silver.

Update, it seems Techland are largely responsible, when I asked why:
QuoteDear Customer,
thank you for your inquiry.
We don't know why - that is the information we get from the developer.

Quoting: LinasI really hope this is some sort of miscommunication. Otherwise it sounds a bit too much like "dear customer, fuck you, have a nice day."My email was a bug report, that was the reply.

To the people asking about the fullscreen mode used, it was stated in the article:
QuoteI spoke to the person who did it on twitter, he mentioned both Windows/Linux were done in borderless fullscreen mode.
