For me, at least, it seems like it is caused by the 'Ambient Occlusion' setting. Turning that off and all the flickering disappeared.
For reference, I'm using Linux Mint 20, with kernel 5.8 and the Kisak Mesa PPA. I have an AMD RX570.

Quoting: ziabicePlayed the first mission and it doesn't seem a good port, there are lots of graphic glitches, keyboard doesn't respond very well... it's definitely in beta qualityAs I mentioned earlier, I had the graphical glitches as well.

I backed Wasteland 3. I was able to play last night for about 15 minutes. The game worked for me. No crashes in the small amount of playtime.
But I did have issues with some texture flickering and visual artifacts. Not enough to make it unplayable, you could see everything. But distracting enough that I'll wait a little bit.

Quoting: HamishAny word on Linux support for Wasteland Remastered?I bought it a month or so ago. Out of the box, it is not playable using Proton. The game starts, you can access the menu and start a new game. But after the intro text, there is a loading screen that hangs forever. I'm assuming it's a video playback issue (mfplat). There are workarounds but I didn't bother to try.

I remember before I would just use the KEYDB.cfg file and it was a bit hit or miss. But with a few extra steps that are in the link I posted, I now have most of them working (I think it seems to be 20th Centry FOX discs that have problems). But I think there are most steps in that link that can be done to resolve those issues.
I remember trying Leawo when I used Windows. It was okay as a free alternative, but I remember it has issues, particularly with the menus, but that was at least 5 years ago I tried it. On Windows, CyberDVD I think was the best in terms of compatibility but was terrible software in general, and I don't think it works through WINE.
It is good to know that there is another alternative. So I might test out Leawo. I did a quick search on the Lutris site and didn't find an installer listed. Do you have a link to it?

Quoting: GuestWell, whether you use Kodi or VLC it doesn't make much of a difference because you're relying on the AACs and other decryption. The player just pretty much handles the playback. Although, I find Kodi to perform a bit better.Quoting: uglyNot sure about Kodi but with VLC it's hit or miss. Every Bluray I have tried with Leavo has worked so far.Quoting: GuestNice, speaking of Lutris you can now watch blu-ray with Leawo through it. I just installed it last night and played several and they all worked. You can't use the menus and it works best in fullscreen. I'll be updating in a few.You can play blu-ray using VLC or Kodi as well.

Ozone looks fine. I didn't really have a problem with the XMB interface.
The one thing that bothers me about Ozone is that there are no screenshots for save states.

But I've experienced a lot of issues with Bluetooth dongles. Particularly dongles that use the Broadcom chipset. They connect easily, but keep disconnecting. Dongles that use the CSR chipset, have trouble connecting initially, but tend to work well afterwards.
At xpadneo, some users have been reporting how different Bluetooth dongles work: https://atar-axis.github.io/xpadneo/#bt-dongles [External Link]

I updated from an RX 550 to an RX 570. I had to downgrade to the RX 550 because of a hardware issue with my old HD7850. I assumed it was a hardware failure because I had some other hardware get damaged. Interestingly another use has the same problem with the old SI radeon card and the new Ryzen 3600 on Linux.
I was holding out for the RX5500, but it still seems like it's not quite ready for prime time. I picked up the XFX RS XXX RX 570 (not sure if I got all the Xs right) at Newegg for $100. That's a tough price to beat, so I jumped on it.
The performance is solid. I'm only playing at 1080p, so it's good enough for what I'm doing. I'm surprised at how used to the minor stutters I got when using the RX 550 on some older games. Everything is so smooth now.
My only complaint is that it seems to run hot and draw a lot of power. Understandable, when I'm gaming. But at idle, it's drawing at least 35W and that's only if I set power_dpm_force_performance_level to low. The benchmarks and reviews showed a lot less power draw for this card at idle.

There really is nothing wrong with someone else registering a mark after the original trademark owner abandons the mark. I think as others have mentioned earlier, the general theory behind trademarks is that it is meant to help people identify the source of the goods or services. So long as there is one 'source' then that's okay.
Of course, that ends up being sort of artificial because do consumers really go and check the trademark register before they buy something to know who the source is? Even product names that are well known have changes in ownership, changes in management, changes in employees, etc. so that even if the source of the products ends up being the same, the quality isn't always the same. Products end up changing quality (usually for the worse) but they still ride on using the well-known name of the product to push sales.

Quoting: NezchanOne point here, Chooseco didn't exist in the 80s. The books at that time were published by Bantam Books, who would have held copyright and any trademarks that were registered on the line. Chooseco wasn't founded until 2003 as a vehicle for the author and his wife to re-publish the old books and create new material. Thanks for clarifying that. I didn't look into it all that much.

Quoting: NezchanAs mentioned earlier, they are notably litigious, suing Chrysler for an ad campaign whose tagline was "Choose Your Adventure" (noting they didn't even use the whole phrase) and Netflix over an interactive Black Mirror film. That would push them more to the scummy side of things. Like I said, they do need to protect their rights, and policing your trademark is part of that. How you choose to go about doing that adventure is another thing.

I recent power surge destroyed my old HD7850 so I've been in the market for a new video card. I was kind of hoping the RX5500XT would be the sweet spot for gaming at 1080 resolution.
But it seems priced a bit high, and the Linux drivers don't seem to be there yet for Navi.
I found an RX570 for $100 (after rebate, unfortunately) and I had a $10 gift card at Newegg. So, $90 for a video card just a hard price to beat, especially since the RX5500XT doesn't seem to provide significant performance gains (although the lower power consumption would be nice). And the RX570 seems like it's tried and true on Linux.
