Steam has Bush League Hockey [External Link], which seems like it's trying to look like the SNES era version of the EA games. But the reviews are mixed.

Quoting: MohandevirI usually spend my time actually playing hockey. But since there is no beer league hockey going on with the pandemic measures, I might have picked up the latest version of the EA game.Quoting: uglyIn fact, the last PC version is 2009. It's not even in 1080p. :grin:Quoting: MohandevirI used to play the NHL games. But buying them every year I started to realize how repetitive they got. I think the last one I have is NHL 2002. I haven't paid much attention to them in years. Last I heard the PC versions of the game didn't get the attention that the console versions got and were missing features. Is that still the case? Or do they even release the PC version anymore?Quoting: Liam DaweEA just announced they're putting FIFA on Stadia in March. Interesting timing...Yeah... But... Where is NHL21?!:grin:

As I mentioned in the bug report, I tested the mesa branch that has a potential fix and it resolves the ambient occlusion flickering.

My problem with the numpad isn't the off-center issue. For me, I hate how the numpad crams the rest of the keys in random places. For word editors, I use the arrow keys and the the home/end keys a lot for navigation. The numpad means that the arrow keys are crammed and tiny keys. And the biggest issue is that the home/end keys are in an unintuitive location at the top of the keyboard. Half the time I want to hit backspace, or home/end, I end up hitting the the insert key (a key that should burn in hell) or the numlock key.
The numpad is handy for typing in numbers quickly. But if I really needed it, I could buy a USB numpad. And because I accidentally hit the numlock key so often, half the time that I do want to type in numbers, the numbers are inactive and operate as arrows or home/end and I end up skipping around the document.
The only laptop that has what I would consider a sensible keyboard layout is the HP Omen series: https://www.omen.com/us/en/laptops.html [External Link]
But that's a gaming class laptop and I'd rather not have Nvidia graphics.

Quoting: Luke_NukemI really dislike laptops with a numpad. It means the typing keyboard is shunted off to the left further off-center with the screen. It's damned uncomfortable after a period of time.I've been using a work laptop (Dell) to WFH during the pandemic. I can't stand the keyboard. And it seems most laptops use the same keyboard layout.
Otherwise I'd be keen on this.

For me, at least, it seems like it is caused by the 'Ambient Occlusion' setting. Turning that off and all the flickering disappeared.
For reference, I'm using Linux Mint 20, with kernel 5.8 and the Kisak Mesa PPA. I have an AMD RX570.

Quoting: ziabicePlayed the first mission and it doesn't seem a good port, there are lots of graphic glitches, keyboard doesn't respond very well... it's definitely in beta qualityAs I mentioned earlier, I had the graphical glitches as well.

I backed Wasteland 3. I was able to play last night for about 15 minutes. The game worked for me. No crashes in the small amount of playtime.
But I did have issues with some texture flickering and visual artifacts. Not enough to make it unplayable, you could see everything. But distracting enough that I'll wait a little bit.

Quoting: HamishAny word on Linux support for Wasteland Remastered?I bought it a month or so ago. Out of the box, it is not playable using Proton. The game starts, you can access the menu and start a new game. But after the intro text, there is a loading screen that hangs forever. I'm assuming it's a video playback issue (mfplat). There are workarounds but I didn't bother to try.

I remember before I would just use the KEYDB.cfg file and it was a bit hit or miss. But with a few extra steps that are in the link I posted, I now have most of them working (I think it seems to be 20th Centry FOX discs that have problems). But I think there are most steps in that link that can be done to resolve those issues.
I remember trying Leawo when I used Windows. It was okay as a free alternative, but I remember it has issues, particularly with the menus, but that was at least 5 years ago I tried it. On Windows, CyberDVD I think was the best in terms of compatibility but was terrible software in general, and I don't think it works through WINE.
It is good to know that there is another alternative. So I might test out Leawo. I did a quick search on the Lutris site and didn't find an installer listed. Do you have a link to it?

Quoting: GuestWell, whether you use Kodi or VLC it doesn't make much of a difference because you're relying on the AACs and other decryption. The player just pretty much handles the playback. Although, I find Kodi to perform a bit better.Quoting: uglyNot sure about Kodi but with VLC it's hit or miss. Every Bluray I have tried with Leavo has worked so far.Quoting: GuestNice, speaking of Lutris you can now watch blu-ray with Leawo through it. I just installed it last night and played several and they all worked. You can't use the menus and it works best in fullscreen. I'll be updating in a few.You can play blu-ray using VLC or Kodi as well.
