We still don't recommend pre-ordering it, as delays are possible, and happen a lot for Linux versions.Come on! It is not the first Linux game from Paradox Interactive. Also they have delivered good quality including a strong commitment to Linux. So I'm pretty sure that they can do it :)

Oh great! It's a Pay-2-Win-Game which costs three times the money as on the tablet, and you still have to pay for everthing in the ingame-store. Sorry, I'm not bothered by that crap. Not even as Warhammer-Fan.

Another awesome best quality port! Looking forward to future ports from Aspyr.
IMHO it's better playable as on Windows, but unfortunately it has the same flaws as all the Sid Meier games: many Bugs, UI Issues and a extremely stupid idiotic AI :/. I wonder how many DLCs we will need this time to fix this :(. But it's fun with friends in Multiplayer.

On my setting Nvidia 8800 GTX/1GB, Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3Ghz) and 8GB Ram I get 60 FPS, only close to bigger planets (r200+) the frame rate drops.
What Java version do you have installed? Should be 64Bit only on a Linux 64Bit System. It seems that Java 32Bit is causing problems, like low frame rates.

But it is IMHO also a bit complex, which could be a bit frustrating at the beginning to get into it and things working. Most stuff is meanwhile covered by the new Tutorial in the beginning.
Just give it a try :D

Quoting: MetallinatusI downloaded the alpha build on their website and got literally 5 fps from the game :DHuh? What kind of machine do you have? I have a lot higher fps on my 6+ year old maschine with an 8800GTX.
Quoting: MetallinatusAside from that, the game is interesting.... I guess :)You can bet! It's amazing what they have done with the last updates. You have now planets in dodecaeder shape instead of discworlds. Pirates, Spider-Bots(?)wormholes, black holes, warpgates, 120+ Weaponcombos, programmable ShipAI, Starmap, infinity space with over 9 billion(?) galaxies. Faction-PVP and lots more.

Why would you have expected it lower then this? It's less 1%.
IMHO it was a bad timing to count as many moved off to minetest/voxelands, also 7D2D was released for Linux just a short time before. I would have expected higher numbers.

Quoting: VonI disagree. They've pulled the plug not on one person, but the whole company (what, 2 or 3 more people in there?) It's an ugly overreaction and a statement “we can do what we damn want with your games, deal with it.”What? If someone has overreacted then it was definitely Mike. A normal reaction would have been to contact Valve about the failure and NOT RANTING on twitter and posting a kill threat! After that Valve had every right to pull the game.
Dead Island Zombie Game Now Available On Linux For Some (updated)

Quoting: ZeitgeistYou are allowed to own a copy of dead island in Germany but buying is prohibited. So one can travel to UK buy it and travel back to Germany. You are also allowed to buy it in Germany as an adult. But it is not easy to find a shop/store as they are not allowed to advertise the game, which includes listing the game in an Online Store like Steam.

WHAT THE HELL LIAM?
I don't believe it.
YOU ARE DOING an awesome Job with GOL, which made this site to the No.1 Resource for Linux Gaming!
This bunch of idiots, (fill in some more insults here) :) from LGC are nothing compared to WHAT YOU HAVE CREATED with GOL. They are just jealous about you, as YOU ARE DOING A WAY BETTER JOB then they are.
Don't let this *CENSORED* win.
I can promise you one thing. If you go from board now, then you will regret it for the rest of your life. Hope to see you soon after processing what has happened. But don't give up yet!
@Samsai and others: Thanks for efforts to keep GOL alive :). I only wish I had more time to contribute.
