XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is now officially available for Linux, earlier than expected

Quoting: rustybroomhandleLinux build definitely running smoother than previously. There does seem to be some kind of slowdown that creeps in right after cutscenes though... might be memory not freeing up. Busy digging for more helpful info now.
Did you try pressing CapsLock? :P

(Is that still a thing?)

In the market for a pricey
No.

But I would be in for a cheap ARM laptop ultraportable, with a decent screen (slim bezels not to loose space).
I only need vim in a VT, and a couple of days of battery :)

OK, if you want to be fancy, add in links, ssh, and maybe, maybe some VNC or GUI of some kind (with a browser).

But all I personaly really need right now is a cheap, low-power portable terminal ;)
Probably shouldn't be looking at gaming laptops* then. :P

I've only ever had two laptops (technically netbooks), and I got them both for ~£150 from CEX. Neither of them could play anything graphically demanding, but they've both played native-resolution videos well enough, and can handle low-population fortresses in Dwarf Fortress.

* Although I still consider 'gaming laptop' to be an oxymoron.

Good to see that the PayPal option is back. I wish I was in a stable financial position to restart my monthly donation, but unfortunately I'm not, and probably won't be until next year, maybe sooner. :(

The HTC Vive just had a price cut, VR just became a little more accessible

Has this price cut made you more likely to buy one
Nope. :P

Still can't see VR taking off. The PS4 variant's "only" ~£340, and that's still too much to pay for such gimmicky tech in my opinion.

I am still not convinced that this game needs MP... still, it should appease the people who have demanded it since day one.

I'll give it a go with my girlfriend when it drops, and maybe I'll have a change of heart.

You seem to be missing my GPU's model: GeForce GTX 970Ti, which is surprising because I'm pretty sure you had one yourself previously. :P
The 970, 980 and 980ti are all in there. There's no such card as a 970ti.
Oh wow, that's embarassing. I've had "970Ti" in various signatures since I got it three years ago.. I just checked my ebuyer orders, and sure enough, it's just a 970.

I can recommend this, but beware that it gets damn frustrating at times. Expect to die during the boss fights. A lot.

Looks good! I'll have to pick this up -- it's been a while since I played a good dungeon crawler RPG.
