Quoting: BladePupperSomething I don't get is the need for a 1080p display. I get making it still run games well when docked with a 1080p external display, but on the device itself I don't understand. There are advantages. You've already identified that you're ensuring that the hardware can handle 1080p, but that also means that when you're plugged into an external display you're either 1:1 or a simple upscale to 4K without having to change the game's resolution in the settings. And game devs probably are already testing their games and interface at 1080p, but probably aren't testing them at lower. But, yeah, it's likely mostly driven by "bigger number is better" marketing.

Cool. The original was an interesting idea, but the implementation was super janky and unresponsive. Hopefully the reimplementation can squeeze a fun game out of the idea and framework.

Really the visual style of the small bit of gameplay in the trailer reminds me of Dead Nation on the PS3, which is... very not turn-based. I did really enjoy it though. That style could just be the trappings of zombie games more than anything.
The thing that would turn me off about it (since they've shown they can make games with RPG stuff that I find tolerable) is leaning too heavily into the survival part of survival horror. I'm probably not up for that. I would want to feel awesome with my zombie attachments, not spend my time scrabbling around for the two bullets on the level.

one Shadowrun fans might like to take a look atI did really enjoy the Shadowrun games even though I don't generally get on with RPGs. I hope Harebrained keep the Deck in mind as they're developing this game, since that's where I enjoyed their previous ones.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySure. But things like having meetings with government representatives, massive investment in the country, and education and employment for the citizens are things that any competitor would have to be able to counter. Being cheaper and having source code access won't do much because Windows also has those things in China. Just being better in some aspects wouldn't be sufficient to move the needle. There's a whole lot going on with Microsoft's relationship with China, and it took decades (and a whole lot of money and commitment) to achieve.Quoting: CatKillerYeah, I know. But that's not set in stone for all time. If MS can screw up for a while and then come up with a strategy that works, so can we.Quoting: Purple Library GuySomeone definitely needs to be getting the Chinese onto Linux. How Microsoft Conquered China [External Link]

Quoting: KlaasThe question is: Will this be better than or as good as Darkside Detective? It's also similar to the Blackwell games [External Link] and Whispering Willows [External Link].
At first glance it looks similar and obviously the theme is similar as well.

Since the last time I said what I'd been playing, I've played a bit of The Captain [External Link], which has been fun so far, and I've just tonight started The Forgotten City [External Link], which I don't think should have got the green tick but has also been good so far.
