I bet we will have a lot of fun and nothing will try to kill us or scare us.I am sure you have nothing to worry about. Those facilities have like shitton of safety rules and regulations. What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah, calling it fake was a bit harsh. Carefully placed might be better wording. ;)
But it's a curse, I'll tell you. Once you know the blocky shadows are there, you start noticing them. But anyway, before I upgraded my gaming box, I could not afford to have shadows all. So a first world problem for sure.

Quoting: liamdaweWow, how low are you settings? Mine looks nothing like that. This is supposed to be Ultra. I would really like to see a screenshot from a similar location. The screenshot is Värmland, Sweden, Elgsjön (Sprint), Midday / Sunny.

Quoting: tuubiNow I am intrigued. This is what I am seeing.Quoting: LinasShadows in the game are not anything as smooth as that. They are quite blocky and jagged. The only nitpick I have with Dirt Rally.Could it be your graphical settings or something? Because for me shadows look quite smooth, pretty much like in the screenshot.

Dirt Rally is a great game, no question about it. But that screenshot is totally fake. Shadows in the game are not anything as smooth as that. They are quite blocky and jagged. The only nitpick I have with Dirt Rally.

It's no insider knowledge or anything, just my experience with how software projects tend to work.

Quoting: ShmerlThis sounds unprofessional to me.No, not really. Deadline is nearing, and as always there are lots of things to be done, and managers are starting to look for things to cut to meet the deadline. Does not necessarily mean that Linux is canceled, but that it has been reduced in priority in favor of some contractual obligations they need to meet.

Valve put the Steam Controller and Steam Link on a big sale again

I did get a Steam Link the last time it went on sale. And I am not using it.
First of all, you want wired network, or really high quality wireless. And even then it is recommended to have either the PC or the Steam Link wired.
I got it to work mostly smoothly over wireless + wired configuration, but some random interference would still cause a latency spike once in a while. Which always seem to happen at the worst possible moment.
The video quality itself is very good. And I didn't notice much performance degradation in games either. Which was surprising, because my graphics card was already struggling. It seems to be more CPU bound, at least with software encoding, and I do have a decent CPU.
Latency itself is not too bad, but it is there, and it is noticeable. Not much of a problem for sofa gaming with a controller, but for competitive or any twitch reflex gaming it's a no go. For example I had problems playing Race the Sun, as I struggled to time the maneuvers to avoid obstacles.
But the real deal breaker for me was very limited peripheral support. Namely no wheel and pedals. There is a third party application that claims to enable that, but the reviews on Steam were largely negative, so I didn't bother.
It is nice piece of technology, and can be useful if you have the right setup. But make sure that you know what you are getting.

Serious Sam's Bogus Detour adds full split-screen support for local play, Steam Controller now works properly

Serious Sam games tend to have really good split-screen multiplayer. Playing the original Serious Sam TFE with 4 players on one screen was a bit low resolution, but amazing experience nonetheless. And now they have VR and "flat" players playing together. Makes one think that these guys actually know their shit. :)
Yes, I know that Bogus Detour is by another team.
