I am loving the atmosphere so far. This has potential to be a really good game.

Buying Linux Games From Cheap Bundle Websites & Stores, Some Important Information

This whole situation sucks. I have not touched Windows in the last decade, but I bet that like half of the games I own somehow count as Windows sales. Mostly because I (used to) buy a lot of bundles. Also I bought a few games on my android phone. The whole thing is extremely biased against Linux porters.

Funny how there is a review on Steam by somebody who played the game for 8 hours already. Wonder how that works? Are they running closed betas?

Did not know it had local multiplayer. That could make it worthwhile to have. A bit expensive for 10 minutes of giggles though.

Anyone Interested In A GOL Game Jam?

This is a great idea, but is not a small task to undertake alone. I would suggest partnering up with a Linux-friendly company like Feral, Aspyr, or Humble Bundle to get both publicity and support. Or with somebody who makes the development tools, so that they could be platform sponsors, and make it for example a Godot jam or Unity jam. And that is not even the hard part. The hard part is making this feel like an event. And in my mind that means an actual physical event. Which is certainly doable if you limit the scope geographically to, lets say, the Nordic countries. The most important is to limit the scope in some way, and go with it, because doing stuff on a global scale very quickly becomes overwhelming.

Steam Controller Demo From Pax Prime With Valve Talking About It

I will only buy it if it comes in a wired variety. I think there is enough waste in the world without me dumping a bunch of batteries every week.

Also, from a purely practical perspective: I do not use a gamepad for all the games, so it may be laying around for a while. No fun finding out that the batteries are dead and need recharging / replacing when I do want to use it. Also, all the wireless input devices I have tried, had all sorts of stability and accuracy problems when not on full charge. Like a keyboard repeating key strokes, or a mouse pointer jumping around.

That said I do trip over the cables from time to time, so I know the sentiment. Hope they make both versions, so we can all be happy. :)

Quoting: ProfessorKaos64My gamepad works just fine. SteamOS brewmaster, Official Xbox 360 controller over wireless. While some gamepads do not work, I really feel staff here should have a few gamepads of the common variety before saying "gamepads do not work." I know you can't test everything though.
Glad to hear that it works for you. Your point is fair enough, I could have worded it better. I tested it with a generic gamepad that does not use xboxdrv.

Yeah, I am more of a "guest" than "staff" here. ;)
