It's even more important than stereoscopy.
You cannot feel inside if you cannot look around (in a natural way).

Quoting: badberI hate this stupid meme of something not being "real VR" because there is no feature X. We had super low framerate systems with insanely low resolution and absolutely terrible tracking and well still called it VR in the 90s. Motion controls weren't a part of the Oculus Rift for many years. Stop trying to make yourself feel better about your super expensive purchase and accept that there are varying versions of VR.I feel though that head turn tracking is absolutely necessary for VR.

Quoting: bubexelit's ok, yes, but the missing tracking mess all inmersion, it's just a toy comparing with real VR. What make VR inmersive is the full tracking and motion controllers.I wonder how people could get an idea of what this VR is all about. It seems electronic markets are not going to set up test stations, at least not here. So trying with a mobile might give peopel an idea. Hopefully they don't find it not convincing enough and lack the fantasy to imagine how it feels when done way better. But a colleague of mine stood there with open mouth staring into the virtual world with one... :)

There is stereoscopic head tracking VR for mobiles. Of course, full-featured VR devices are much better, but mobiles can do way more than non-stereoscopic 360 degree videos.

Quoting: bubexelnevermind about shitty vr mobile phones, it is not real VR. It's just a fake VR to sell phones, stupid 360 videos without stereoscopic. This is plain wrong.

Quoting: liamdaweI tried some random iphone VR quite some time ago. One where you slot the phone into a headset and adjust the lenses. Even that was somewhat impressive, so I can't imagine how a Vive must be.Yes, that's what I meant. I guess it doesn't matter if the carton is made by Google. ;)
Quoting: liamdaweIt's not the fact that it's VR, but having something like that strapped to your face for a long time and the games themselves, that's what I'm keen to put some time and thoughts into.To be honest, I haven't had more than two demos on a fair, which of course weren't too long. So I can't judge how tring it gets. But it sure was exciting. When I moved my hands to hit something although there weren't any hand controllers yet, I knew immersion was immense...

I'm not sold on the idea of VR myself, so I am looking forward to eventually being able to try one properly to see if it changes my mind. I've heard good things, so I am looking forward to that day.Did you try Google Cardboard? It's not "the real thing" of course, but with some fantasy, it gives you an idea of what it feels like.

Quoting: g000hI notice quite often that Game Comment Threads seem to get subverted into threads arguing about Steam or GOG or itch.io or completely unrelated material.I agree. It's always the same discussion...
Please could commenting about these non-Game things go into a separate Forum post or Article.

Quoting: wolfyrionI think you have a wrong idea of what steam really is...and yes you can backup your steam games , and can run them any time you want even offline.I never tried it, but this has even be reported for some Feral port where the Windows version uses Denuvo.

I don't care much where they publish their games, but an interview would be great nevertheless. I wonder what they're up to with their early Vulkan support in released games. They will gain experience, of course, and had some additional visibility, but I wonder if it pays, at least directly...
