So far, the screenshots look a lot like Hyper Light Drifter, and visually that's a hell of a high bar to clear. Hopefully you're ready for the inevitable comparisons and are prepared to do things that set your style apart from the Heart Machine's team.

There's a lot of Zelda mentions, but this sounds like it's a heck of a lot darker. And more challenging. Hopefully it doesn't go too far in either direction that it stops being as accessible as those classic games.

I felt the same way about Ryzom. The whole thing is way too technical and non-intuitive, which holds you back from having actual fun. If they'd simplify the skill systems, streamline the HUGE walls of text that new players have to read to even understand the world and its factions, and focus on immersion more than systems, it would be a far better game.

If you get really way back, Ultima Online had fishing too. If I am not mistaken.

Just hope the trophy is exciting enough to keep people going for fish.
Fishing was always boring on every MMO I tried before Albion.

To be fair, actual fishing is pretty dull too. It's mostly an excuse to go outdoors and drink beer with the occasional, if not rare, bit of excitement.

Much like watching baseball, actually.

I like the trophy fishing concept. Fishing in MMOs goes back at least to WoW if not before, but I don't recall hearing about one with that kind of competition/showoff idea.

This sounds like the base game without any expansions is now much better than when it was first released. That's good, since I picked it up in a recent bundle and haven't really played around with it yet (other than making sure it runs).

Aww, looking at that lovely opening shot in the trailer, I was hoping for something with lush backgrounds and great environments. But then it ends up being pretty much low-light Terraria graphics and all underground. What a disappointment.

Ergh, I'm actually tempted by this one. Really shouldn't be buying games right now, but this one does look good and the levelling between lives system really does look interesting.

Last time I gave a serious try to Maia, it was pretty early on. Before you could have multiple robots, I think, and there weren't any alien wildlife yet. I'm holding off until it finally has an official release to try again and see all the improvements, but I gotta say articles like this test my resolve.

Well, gave it another try. This time I was successfully able to figure out how much money I had, and actually got into my ship and learned the basics of how to drive. Then I floated around because I have NO CLUE where I'm supposed to go. Autopilot didn't help, it just said "coordinates set" but nothing on my screen changed otherwise. No markers, no HUD for that stuff, nothing.

And then a pirate (I assume) came by and killed me. Probably a mercy.

Woah, what an awkward game to play so far. Not sure what any of the keys do and I got stuck trying to get into what I assume is my ship. Or maybe it's not my ship, idk. The game is pretty unclear where I'm supposed to go and minor stuff like how much money I have.

Getting the same problem as shawnsterp too, which annoys me.
