It can be forgiven since its early-access, its in alpha afterall, what I would expect is to see efforts from them in looking for a way to fix it for the next update.

Opinion: Can Linux Be A Viable Gaming Platform? Thoughts From A Sympathetic Game Developer
6 Jul 2015 at 9:12 pm UTC Likes: 5

Something related to this than I have read in the web, is than the devs are still scared about linux because they think they have to supports all distros, when they actually just have to use the steam runtime to achieve that. Thats why its good than steamOS exists, devs just have to target that OS, and problem resolved for everyone.

I hope that Valve will start a certification program to help provide a consistent experience.
They have to do this, everybody would love that. As microsoft and sony does, Valve also has to make the development to their platform a lot more easier. Of course the steam-runtime was a (very) good step in the right direction, and Vulkan too, and steamOS as a target OS, but I'm confident than even more can be done to make linux development easier.

Portal Stories: Mel, A Free Standalone Portal 2 Mod Released On Steam

Looks good

Quoting: KeyrockGreat mod. I'm about halfway-ish through it, I think, and I'm really enjoying it. I am very happy that it is indeed more difficult than Portal 2, as my biggest complaint about Portal 2 was that it was too easy. Can't beat the price either.
lol I actually had to be checking out a gameplay video to finish it, I know I would have to do the same with this mod too.

SMACH Zero, A SteamOS Handheld Official Specifications Revealed

A small device like that would need less resolution, so I think than even if it uses AMD most of the SteamOS games will run there. Looks like a good idea. And I hope than AMD drivers will be in a better shape from here to the next year.
Since its and standarized hardware maybe they will be able to define which games will run on it and which wont (something than steam machines cant do)

Linux Editor Mentioned On The Unity Roadmap

I wonder if enough devs would develop unity games on Linux if there were an editor available. I hope so, I guess they are doing it since the UE4 editor is on linux.
