Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Linux Beta Due Soon! (UPDATED)
23 September 2014 at 5:28 am UTC

Quoting: zimplex1After playing this for a few hours I can say that online works good, and that the game itself runs amazingly well even on high settings and 1080p. There are some issues with the mouse not showing up when the server ad window comes up but you can press enter to get past it.

CS:GO is the only reason I kept my Windows 7 partition... It has since been removed.

In reddit I just saw many people doing the same, like this

I'm waiting for the next month stats from valve, maybe it will raise linux usage at least a bit.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Linux Beta Due Soon! (UPDATED)

Now I guess the quantity of people playing the game at the same time will be 1% higher.
I have been waiting for this (like everybody else). I will try it when kernel 3.17 + mesa 10.3 arrive to the repos (I use r600 driver) to see how it runs.

OP software is great, but we could just download the game from the repositories instead of pay for it (like we can for lugaru)

After that L4D will be the only Valve game to not offer a Linux version yet :D
but it doesn't really matter that it doesn't have a linux version since L4D2 is basically an extended version of L4D1
also you forgot about alien swarm, that game also doesn't have a linux version
I definitely want a pot for L4D1, it use less resources than its secuel (and my gpu driver works worst in linux, so...), and its great, it has well defined which is the first map and the last map, in l4d2 that is a mess.
Alien swarm looks like a game than valve don't care about, so its difficult to see a port of it.
............

Related to the CSGO update, if you go to the forums a lot of people are having trouble with the update, I guess than those "systems" updated for the linux version are causing trouble. of course, that will be fixed soon.

Unfortunately since I already have it on Steam and aren't loaded, I think I'll pass on supporting GOG on this one.
If you have the Steam version already, GOG offers you the game for free: https://secure.gog.com/witcher/backup
Thnx...unfornately Witcher 1 doesnt show any key in Steam only Wt2.
For the witcher 1 you will see the key if you go to the Steam for Windows. Try with wine.
