Quoting: salamanderrakeName me one person who has made a living on code they gave to a GPL project?
Ever heard of Linus Torvalds? And he's not the only one getting paid to work on GPL licensed software. Several software companies have built their businesses around open source software and pay their employees or other companies to work on them.

The original 1997 version of FPS ‘Shadow Warrior’ is now FREE on GOG, along with both expansions

The Steam key for Classic Redux is 0.99 € in the Humble Store [External Link], in case someone's interested. Does look slightly better than the original as long as you're cool with Steam.

I was kinda slow with this one, but here goes anyway:

Quoting: mastereduDonating to someone doing the work Epic Games is actualy meant to do... this is insane. I appreciate his work, but come on, that is realy Epic Games work, and I wont support Epic Games any longer!!! They had 2 years to bring the Epic Games launcher to linux, and still 0 AFFORD.
I can sympathise, but you are still coming off a bit entitled. It would be awesome if Linux was a higher priority at Epic, but allowing a volunteer contributor to do this is infinitely better than not. Of course I wish they'd pay Yaakuro directly for his contributions, but this is how a lot of commercially run open source projects work. You might think it's "insane" to volunteer in a project that directly benefits a commercial enterprise, but please don't decide for others. And please don't pan a company for opening their product to public contributions. That's just counterproductive.

That really is disappointing. I somehow expected a story-focused action adventure with an original style and premise.
It was mentioned somewhere that the story part of the game would not appear in the betas, only in the final game.
The gameplay does not seem interesting, so I'm not holding my breath. The game would need a damn good story to compensate.

Quoting: scaineAll supported platforms should progress at the same rate, really, or we're risking the usual lag after release before the Linux version comes out.
True, but game developers have slightly different priorities than gamers. Or open source projects. It's quicker to test and debug on one platform than all of them, and usually there's a valid reason (money) to get the finished product out of the door as quickly as possible. Even if development was done on all platforms simultaneously, it makes sense for a small team to initially concentrate their efforts and limited resources towards whichever platform is most profitable. I do get your point though.

Well, duh! Both are extremely realistic simulations of life in Great Britain. Of course they'd be similar.

There is a demo available now for ‘Epistory: Typing Chronicles’, a Bastion-like typing adventure

Thanks for letting us know. I really like the pretty origami-like presentation, though the blur effect just had to go. I'll have to finish the demo before I decide how high it'll end up on my loooong wishlist.

Refunct, the short and peaceful first-person platformer is now on Linux, I have some free keys for you

It looks nice, but ~20 mins of gameplay? Many if not most free demos take longer to complete. I'll probably buy it anyway at some point.
