I picked it up for the sale price. I played Mars: War Logs and while it wasn't spetacular it was worth the sale price and this is worth it to show the support for the Linux version.

While it's lower on the Linux side it is still respectable framerates on the Nvidia side. Hopefully AMD can get some more money to spend on their driver teams.

Unlike many I understand why they are behind on the driver side of things. AMD had a profit in 2014 of $51 million while Nvidia had a profit of $147 million in just the fourth quarter of last year. When you make more than 7 or 8 times the money of the competition it is easier to outspend them in R&D. I'm not taking sides, just pointing out a fact.

I prefer AMD's more open type of innovations such as tressFX so I will continue to choose them when they can deliver a competitive product. I wouldn't take a Fury X over a GTX 980 Ti, i'm not blind, but I would take a 390X over a GTX 980 and a 390 over a GTX 970.

I give every new game 3 months before I even think of buying them and this is why. Not saying I think releasing games in this state is alright, just that it's what I have come to expect. Hopefully patches are in route.

I'm more forgiving for early access titles so long as issues do get fixed. The next few weeks and months will tell the tale.

Quoting: pete910
Quoting: liamdawe
Quoting: pete910I'll just point out that the steam versions are DRM free too. you can run them without steam running/starting

You still need the Steam client running to download them, there's been debates on this but that's still a small form of DRM to some people.

Anyway, let's not turn this into a DRM war heh.

I guess when you buy it off GoG then it just appears on your system...

I've been eying this for a while. I'm going to bite soon. I regret not getting the season pass when it was $9.99.
