Quoting: Cyba.CowboyNah, I look forward to this - as long as it suits the particular game type! For example, it would make little sense to have such realism for say, Palworld... But it would be fantastic to see this implemented in The Last of Us.Each to his own. I think I prefer to play a game, see a movie or listen to music the way the artists intended. Not have an AI interpret it for me. I'm not interested in having a Tiktok beauty filter over my games.

I mean the fact that this demo had to use TWO 5090's is just beyond bonkers.

I sincerely hope AMD and Intel won't follow but something tells me they can't help themselves. AI slop must be everywhere.

Man the comment section on GamingOnLinux is one of the few places in the internet were I don't regret scrolling down. Amazing that we can still be civil even if we disagree.
OT: I think Mozilla did themselves a disservice calling it "On-Device AI" features. I think few people have an issue with local machine learning features. Calling them 'AI' just associate them with something completely different in my view.

Out of stock Steam Decks is just the beginning of our problems this year. Probably a lot of companies that will go out of business. Especially smaller PC part manufacturers as fewer and fewer customers will invest in new builds with prices as they are. It's very sad.
KDE Plasma 6.6 released with improved accessibility, new on-screen keyboard and lots more

Everyone should use whatever makes them happy and there are plenty of good options, but in my book Plasma is starting to pull away and play in a whole league of their own. Yeah there are lots of options that can be confusing but the defaults are good enough that most don't need to change anything. For most of my time the only customization I did was moving the taskbar to the right and changing wallpaper.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI'm interested in KDE, it seems really good (I tried it a couple of times long ago and didn't quite click with it, but it wasn't like I fundamentally disliked it, there were just things, little problems that are probably long gone). But it doesn't seem to be available in any distros as user friendly as Mint. One of these days I'll give it another look. How long ago? Plasma 5 was good but full of paper cuts. With Plasma 6 KDE have really stepped up. They have a huge momentum with lots of devs and funding. You can really feel the bar being raced in every update. I don't know for how long they can keep it up. Most DE's release 1-2 times a year, Plasma does 3 releases a year.

Controversial opinion. I hope his mailbox is all right...
Jokes aside, I'm glad things are moving along for KDE Linux. It's not something I'm personally interested in, but I imagine it's great for KDE devs. Hopefully it's something one could recommend for those who are KDE curios (Kurious?). Maybe we'll even get to see some devices with it pre-installed in the future?

These are great additions. I like that it's easy to turn off them all, I also like that you can pick and chose. All except the chatbot (🤮) are on-device. Haters gonna hate but this is a good direction by Mozilla.
