The latest Steam Hardware Survey shows Linux market-share has increased, slightly
2 Jun 2017 at 7:12 pm UTC Likes: 7

I completely disagree, this survey is unclear in his methods and we know that it doesn't cover some parts of the community which we have no way to say if they are actually such a minority. Also people get the wrong idea about this survey, it's the active users, not the active buyers, a lot of people have Steam to play only one game and never buy anything.

Also saying that it match up with sales numbers is not true, developers have been reporting Linux sales between 1 to 3 percent of all sales. 1% is already 25% more than 0.8%, that's a huge difference.

Just because a survey happens to be in the range of what we know is possible it doesn't make it automatically legitimate.

Steam Direct, the self-publishing system on Steam will cost developers $100, Curators getting an update too

Quoting: Mountain Man$100 is way too low. Junk games and scammers can easily make back 10x that or more before their stuff gets flagged and pulled. I think $1000 would have been better.
100$ for you is not much, but for some people, especially in poor countries, is a lot.

SteamOS updated, Valve drops AMDGPU-PRO for Mesa

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI wonder if someday We gonna have a final SteamOS release, so porters and developers of steam-only games will do their job focused on that final SteamOS release and not generic Linux distros...
Even the PS4 has updates, I don't see how that change anything, Valve already released the Steam runtime (the libraries on which to base your games so that it runs on everything that runs Steam) and it hasn't updated for years, so what you are talking about has essentially been fixed years ago.

SteamOS updated, Valve drops AMDGPU-PRO for Mesa

I hope they could release an AMD based Steam Machine but they also have to redo their marketing else they will have a backlash from corrupt gaming journalists (ArsTechnica and Polygon) again and they won't be able to do anything.

Valve have changed how gifting games works
5 May 2017 at 1:20 am UTC

I do thing that the gift to inventory while it can be useful for kind of users in some kind of scenarios is actually confusing for the majority of the Steam users. I do have some games sitting in my inventory but I don't care about that feature going away.

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is another Kickstarted game to delay the Linux version

I've backed this one so I do hope they deliver, I was really dissapointed when I received the survey which listed the minimum requirements with Windows all over it.

2Dark released without a Linux version despite promising it during crowdfunding

I took the time to write to ulule and Bigben a mail about this, it's probably pointless but I don't like the fact that this kind of stuff happens so often so I would like to know if this is the publisher's fault and if we can at least prevent them from pulling this scam again. I'll let you know if I ever receive any answers.

Security: You might want to change passwords on sites that use Cloudflare
25 Feb 2017 at 12:20 am UTC Likes: 1

It's much more severe than just passwords. Basically everything you have been doing on those websites could have been leaked. People can use those data to blackmail you. And since the Google crawler managed to get this kind of data into their cache we can assume a lot of others did as well.
