Quoting: edddeduck_feralWe worked with Fanatec to get full support for their wheels on Mac and Linux starting with F1 2017, this includes Force Feedback, LED shift support and speed details on the LED display if you have an F1 style wheel. As far as we know we're the only game developer to have full Linux support for these wheels right now so we're pretty excited to see what everyone thinks!
That is such great news! I've been meaning to purchase a Fanatec wheel (mainly because of how easy they can be disassembled), but I wouldn't pull the trigger on such an expensive setup before being basically 100% sure it would work on all my racing games.
Right now only F1 2017 is supported with Force Feedback etc on Linux. But going forward we'll have it in our future racing games. :D

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTDoes Fanatec also work on Linux?
<snip>
if anyone knows I'd like to hear about it.
I have a Fanatec Porsche GT2 wheel with CSR Elite pedals. I haven't yet tested F1 2017, but I managed to get it more-or-less working with Grid Autosport, albeit without any force feedback. I had to fiddle with a lot of the settings on the wheel itself in order to make it useable, since there's no software configurator for (Kubuntu 17.10) Linux.

You'll need to enable a few things to get it to work with full features but that is all documented in the game FAQs.

The Total War: WARHAMMER Norsca Race Pack and Foundation Update now support Linux

Quoting: lucifertdarkI'm using the Nvidia 384.69 drivers with my GTX 770 & there's no drop in performance since the patch even though I'm getting the message in the launcher, I just tested it with an Empire army against the Greenskins & got sent home on my shield, proof that I'm rubbish at the game but at least it's running just fine with my setup. :D
Thanks for the feedback!

Quoting: lucifertdarkAccording to the launcher my machine is no longer up to the task after this latest patch.
It's likely you're using Nvidia drivers which have a bug needing you to downgrade the drivers to an older stable branch that don't experience the performance issue. 381.22 and newer has a performance issue that the older drivers don't experience.
Thanks for the info Eddd, so the 384.59 drivers are broken? neat! lol, here we go with the downgrade upgrade roundabout again. :D The 378 drivers are ok to use?
I would load the game to check before downgrading to 378 but the issue can drop the in game fps down to 5fps so it's pretty noticeable as soon as you start playing. This also effected the game before Norsca was released so it's not specific to the update. If you where playing find just before the update you should be fine after updating too.

If you DONT get a regression on Nvidia please do contact our support and let us know the Nvidia driver version you're using, your exact GPU model as cases which run just fine are just as useful as ones that don't as it's means more data we can use when working with partners to get this driver issue resolved.

Sounds like Steam update might have failed, I would verify your installation data (usually the cause of update issues) if it still continues then contact Feral support.

Quoting: edddeduck_feralI've raised this with our developer contacts at Valve and linked to your Steam community post for all the details. I think we've seen a few rare but strange performance drops for people playing in BPM and this bug looks like the cause.
Wow, thank you for sending this to Valve. T
No problem, you did all the hard work :) It was more copy pasta for me with a few Feral game examples thrown in.

Quoting: dubigrasuI use SteamOS and since I'm still continuously use it since it was released, you can imagine that it does the job and my thoughts about it are pretty positive.
Except for this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamuniverse/discussions/1/1291816880499593115/ [External Link]

Edit: To be exact this is not an issue with SteamOS as a distro, but rather with the Steam client's BPM and is true for all distros I tried (and even on Windows).
But the issue is more aggravating on SteamOS where BPM is the only intended interface.

kudos on the detailed and easy to follow post, having spent most of my days reading and logging bugs for over a decade a nicely written report is a joy to read :)

Total War: Shogun 2 & Fall of the Samurai released for Linux, port review and thoughts
24 May 2017 at 9:43 am UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: lucifertdarkWell this is a first for a Feral release, I got as far as the red Samurai falling flat on his face with a terminal dose of arrows in the back & my entire system froze up leaving me with just a mouse pointer stuck in the middle of the screen.

No crash log to be found anywhere. :(
That is pretty strange, I would contact Feral support with a support report from the pre game launcher and we can have a look. Most likely it sounds like out of date or incorrect drivers.

Quoting: ArehandoroI have a few questions:

Aside of Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai, are all the other DLCs only intended for multiplayer?
All of the unit DLC are available in all modes both single player and multiplayer. Here is one example:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/34342/Total_War_SHOGUN_2__Sengoku_Jidai_Unit_Pack/ [External Link]

"Once you've purchased the content, you will unlock all 10 of these versatile units in single and multiplayer Campaign mode under the conditions stated below."

Quoting: ArehandoroIs there a way to get only the DLCs from Feral's store if I own the game already?
We're only selling the collections but if you don't own Fall Of The Samurai you can get that collection as it's a stand alone expansion to the original Shogun 2.
