For some WINE games/programs you would also need the 32-bit version of Timidity and all the things it requires to listen/play MIDI music in your windows software.
Canonical are now saying Ubuntu's 32bit is not being entirely dropped, 32bit libraries will be "frozen"

I just don't understand what is difficult (relatively) about having a 32-bit-multilib package as an option to install.
Slackware you have a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version.
The 64-bit version is pure 64-bit. If you want to get 32-bit support you have to install these packages: http://www.slackware.com/~alien/multilib/ [External Link]. This also gives you the ability to compile/install other 32-bit stuff if you so need to. Apart from that it just stays quietly in the background.
There are 10,000+ old Windows games that need 32-bit support to run.

Quoting: ElectricPrism...you can
As a Linux Gamer with 350+ games I've purchased it's not worth it to me to buy a game with 0 expectation that it will continue to work in the future. To my knowledge I am not able to download "old versions" of the game on Steam if the new versions break the game.

Quoting: callciferI don't know what they promised in the original crowdfunding campaign, but if they did commit to a Win/Mac/Linux release at the same time they should at least make a DRM-free release for Linux.I don't believe it is mandatory. There was that indie game "Don't be Patchman" that was Linux exclusive for a short while. Although steam didn't understand there was no Windows version so it still added a Windows Icon. I vaguely remember hearing that Valve fixed that issue so it wouldn't happen again.
I say DRM-free, because I think the Windows depot on Steam is mandatory, so they couldn't use Steam just for Linux.

Quoting: GuestI was referring to The Mean Greens. The reason they removed the Linux icon for a while.Spoiler, click me
Quoting: thelimeydragonQuoting: GuestSounds like the Story of Human: Fall Flat they also silently dropped Linux support. The Steam Forum Thread is still active and the Linux Community shows their frustration. The reason they removed the Linux icon for a while was because they updated the game and were fixing issues with the Windows build first before they uploaded an updated Linux build and they didn't want Linux users buying the game during that period and not be able to play the game (as they wouldn't be able to connect due to using an older version of the game).
Maybe Liam could reach out for them as well and hopefully they will change their minds too :D

That's the reason they claimed anyway.
Actually they said:
Spoiler, click me
Although Linux will no longer receive updates, this doesn’t mean you can no longer play Human: Fall Flat. The game will still run fully on your Linux systems and can be re-installed at any time.
Which means, yes you can still install the old Linux build but also they claimed that it will NOT get any updates.
Which sounds not like they just want to fix things first.
How ever they also said they still try to help if there is any stuff going on with the old build.
But further on the older version is not compatible with the newer once, of course, but this also means you have the option to install an old build and only play with other Linux people or just hope Proton works (currently it dose)
And all updates I'm aware of are just a few skins and I think one or two new maps.
But nothing which would not work with the Linux build because skins are available and also there seems no new game play features in the newer maps.
This sounds pretty much like a discontinued Linux port. =/
Well, at least this is the reason why I think so.
But this is after all a different story for a different topic ^_^
