For the original Myst or Riven you'll be better off with ScummVM.
and Myst III will work on ResidualVM

Even with the 64 bits version of Wine?
Yes. You need 32-bit libs to run 32-bit Windows software in WINE.

A pure 64-bit Linux system running 64-bit WINE could only run 64-bit Windows programs.

Quoting: legluondunetI have some old Linux games that are 32 bits only, but it doesn't matter, I will use the Windows port with Wine. I already start this method with some games that run better with Wine than the Linux port today, Heretic II for example.

How will this work for using/playing old 32-bit games that require 32-bit graphics libraries.

Whenever I install the 64-bit Nvidia driver it always asks if I want to install the 32-bit libraries along side it. Which I say yes to, as I need it for older games.

Or just have to use the open-source drivers

LD_LIBRARY_PATH= %command%

ça devrait aller :)
sadly that solution fails for me, which makes me think I don't have some library version the game is wanting.
Try a

ldd ./ActionHenk.x86_64

in a console to see the libraries used by the game.

And if it still doesn't work/give informations, launch the game with strace :

strace -o logAH.txt -e open ./ActionHenk.x86_64

Here (Debian Stretch), the game won't launch without the LD_LIBRARY command, but runs perfectly fine with this workaround.
yeah I tried ldd before, there were no missing libraries. I have the same symptoms as a lot of other people, where the game launches the video/loading screen then crashes.

the strace isn't meaning much to me: https://pastebin.com/0CURMPRR [External Link]

I like the concept a lot.

The dev did have very "controversial" opinion that his games would never ever ever go on sale again (Castle Doctrine). Which some players critised for killing the game as in meant there was never any new blood and any new blood just found a dead game. A game that relies on people playing semi-regularly on/off.

I'm assuming he's learned some of his mistakes from that, which have led to some aspects of this game.

Wine Staging is no longer putting out new releases

Quoting: AsuI so want the wine project dead. (I respect the devs tho.)
Please don't buy software that has no mac or linux client.
I however enjoy playing old Windows 95,98,ME,XP,Vista, etc games... however some still have minor bugs in WINE that will hopefully...eventually get fixed.

I do not want the project to die. In fact it's because of WINE that Linux has better compatibility for old Windows software than modern Windows itself.
