Dota 2 to add two more heroes, one of which is not from the original DotA
13 Aug 2016 at 8:39 pm UTC

Think its only around 40 hours, I really wanned to like Dota2 but I never seem to get in to it.
Dont get me wrong, Im not hating on the game, but coming frome League of legends, witch I really want a Linux client for.
To me Lol is mutch more fast paced and more responsiv game. I also really like the map design, the heros.
Its not perfect but its something I really enjoy playing.

Dota2 for me seems alot slower, I dont really like heros and the artstyle.
The character also feels alot more heavy when they move and I simple cant get in to it.

But to be fair, its great to see a big game like Dota2 to be on linux, and those how play it and become good at it, says its alot more complex than lol, I dont agree or disagree. I just seem to be unable to enjoy dota2 :(.

What have you been playing recently and how is it?
11 Aug 2016 at 6:35 pm UTC

Been playing alot of Stardew Valley and its a great game :).
And some CoH2/Middle earth: shadow of mordor.
There isnt so mutch to say about it, they are also two good games. I just reached the second area in Shadow of mordor.

I have to agree, one of my favorit game in this genra, in fact its probably the only game I play at the moment in that genra.
But I feel in love with CoH 1 and I insta buyed CoH2 on steam when feral ported it.

But I never hade any issues with the game at all. Glad it fixed for those who hade it tho.

I seem to get a little worse performence, but I dont mind it, its still very playble and it fixes the bug I hade with shadow of mordor. Its a windows game ported to linux after all, if I only want performance I could just go with Windows.
But I wont.

Project Cars official twitter confirms to me there are no plans for it on Linux now

Quoting: TuxeeDid anyone seriously think that Project Cars would ever see the light of day on SteamOS? The announcement was more than vague. There are a far more "outspoken" candidates out there which still have to deliver - Rocket League comes to my mind. And to spare you some future disappointment: If Star Citizen ever will be finished, we still won't see a Linux version. As with Kingdom Come: Deliverance (which reminds me, that I should finally get my refund from those bastards).
Star citizen is coming to Linux, and its been confirmed mutliple times.
Also the game is expected to be released by the end of the year.

The reason we dont have a port is because OpenGL are missing stuff along with cryengien.
But they will work on it.

Ofcourse they could probably back out, but I doubt it.
You can just ask the support what the exact problem are at the moment and Im sure they give u a strait answer.

About as confirmed as HL3.

There has never been an explicit confirmation of a Linux version ("looking into it", "some time after release", etc). If I'm wrong: Send pix to prove it. For a start: Why did they pick Cryengine which Linux support is spotty at best, and was de-facto non-existent when RSI decided upon it.
I dont really have to show you anything.
Cry engien was picked cause of its realistic style and it hade nothing to do with Linux. What you can do is to read on the forums, watch there youtube channel and I think it even was an article about it here on GOL, Chris Roberts spoke about vulkan, linux and cry engien. And you can contact the support if you want a strait answer, I can give you my answer I got from the support:

Kraiklyn (Cloud Imperium Games)

Hey there.

Thanks for getting in touch with the crew, here at Cloud Imperium Games.

I was checking out your query concerning a Linux client, and this has been discussed a lot within the community. At the moment there are no solid plans in place, as focus is largely on getting the game developed and on a Windows OS.
This might be something we address later on, but we will have to wait and see, it is definitely further down the road though, in the grand scheme of things. Should you need assistance with anything else in the meantime, please feel free to get back in touch.

All the best,
----------------------------------

I mean its not even hard to find information about it, they seem intressted in doing vulkan and Linux.
But Its no garantee, and it was probably wrong for me to say its confirmed to linux.
But its been a very debated topic among devs if you compair it to other dev teams.

And regarding HL3 I dont think we will see that in my lifetime. Judging from what Valve them self have said about it.
And unlike HL3, Star citizen is coming by the end of the year, with or without a Linux client.

And incase you dont know what they have said about HL3, its basicly, they dont want to release it cause they are afraid its to over hyped. And because the hype is to big, they can never live up to it.

Edit: I think we gonna have to need a forum thread if we going to keep talking about SC.
Im afraid Liam or any mods might bring the smite hammer and smite us all :P

Searching around the net a big, and it seems hes known for being a cynical.
And the game doesnt seem to do that good at all, bugs, fps issues and all kinde of truble apperently.
So I cant image how half done the linux port would be.

This was issues back in 2015 so they might have fixed them now.

That's how the Project Cars studio head responded to WiiU people they upset when they cancelled it. Extremely unprofessional.

Edit: It's not even being taken out of context, it's directly from here http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?27584-Can-the-Wii-U-run-PCARS/page9 [External Link]
I dont really want to buy the game anymore anyway. Even if it comes to Linux Im not even considiering getting this.
The most scary part is that Ian seems to enjoy keep poking deafswing with trash talk.
