Two Worlds: Epic Edition now available for Linux in beta form, uses Wine

Quoting: leillo1975To me, Wine is a perfect solution to "port" this old games. I don't have any problem if this game works perfect and the support is good.
That's sort of the Catch 22 though, I've purchased winewraps some of which won't even launch, support/quality usually nose dives so when Linuxers tend to discourage wine now I know why. I agree with the "IF's" of winewraps, but currently quality doesn't seems to be the case.

Simple, they're just branching out of gaming:

I don't like this picture because Nutella is a Nestle brand. They have quite the reputation.

After learning that they gave out free baby formula just long enough so mothers stopped producing breast milk and then hiked the price I was upset. This death-grip business tactic lead to the death of many infants.

2020, Steam survey reports ~5% Linux use: "Wow, look how many of us there are! These numbers are accurate!"
Holy whack unstatistical statistics batman!
Unix usage has gone through the roof!

Serious question: How does one play games on Linux?

I was reading this yesterday night when it changed, I forgot what day it was until Liam reminded my subconscious and im like yup it's that day again. After all the phoenix news of Valve leaking news about Steam on Linux on April 1st nearly 4 years ago it seems like a fitting Linux gaming celebration day.

Too much Debbie Downer on this thread for me.

I will maintain my optimistic attitude, what a fantastic accomplishment and milestone, no doubt more good things to come.

Wyrmsun, the retro-themed & open source RTS is now free on Steam

It looks terrible but ill install it, and if its fun then the graphics and design will be justified and it may succeed as retro and fun.

I wanna see two joysticks instead of pads if that's possible with the circuit board.

2. Buy 1 sheet of 5/8" cabinet wood and cut to desired desktop size.
3. Stain, paint and finish with eurthane if desired.
4. Mount new desktop on old desktop with glue or screws
5...?
6. Profit / Prosper

See how well SteamOS can run Arma 3 against Windows in this new video

As a StarCraft 2 Map curator, I would love Blizzard games on Linux as I now only use Arch Linux, and maybe WINE once in a while.

Valve is just chipping away at the mountain, the avalanche is coming. I suspect that Steam Machines Winter 2016 and Spring 2017 will be power houses ready for the final console war.

There Steam Machines will enact the final solution. We will be victorious comrades.

AMD release the AMD GPU-PRO Beta Driver with Vulkan support for Linux

Quoting: srlsboyThese R9 cards aren't cheap. At newegg, they start at $175.
Wut? My video card bill this year was $800 for 2 rigs nvidia. That was the cost of gaming on linux with good performance.

I was expecting something between 400-600 ironically.

If AMD becomes the technically superior choice in hardware and driver I'll sell both nVidia cards and opt for maybe some 390s or Fury's
