Hopefully VP will allow the Gentlemen Of The Row mod for Saints Row 2 otherwise the game is virtually unplayable.

You know what...if the performance is there I am happy.
For Steam Machines to be attractive to non Linux people it needs a strong (recognizable IPs) back catalogue. VP is helping provide that.
Obviously native ports are better but they are not always an option, especially if the original publisher sees linux/SteamOS as a risk at this moment in time. If the platform gains major traction I think we will see more native ports as publishers grow in confidence that the returns are there

As long as it runs at 60fps on midrange hardware (as all racing games should), I'm a happy camper.

I have yet to have a survey request on Linux (1.5yrs) but get them all the time if I am running through Wine (damn you Pinball FX2). I know that is just a coincidence but surely a balanced survey targeting all active users maybe once or twice a year would be a better and significantly more useful solution as far as statistics go.

This is one of those games that is a guaranteed day 1 purchase on nostalgia alone. I played SOTN again not that long ago and I was amazed at how well it has aged.
Valve Officially Drop Paid Mods

If Valve seriously rework the Workshop for the people who use mods (get rid of auto update and maybe a manager of some description embedded into the workshop) and switch the earnings to 75% for the modder, 20% to game dev and 5% Valve I would be more than happy for the pay system to come back.
They would need to seriously moderate the new mods coming in to avoid scams. Ideally they would make the game publisher have to port over to SteamOS too as part of the deal.
That'd work for me

Quoting: GuestNot necessarily. You can tweek the on demand governor to be much more gaming friendly.Quoting: fishxzyour are lucky. bioshock runs bad for me. windows version runs atleast 2 times better, if not more. feels a bit like playing on wine...Or you are unlucky - the BI works absolutely perfect on my slightly underpowered notebook. One of the best Linux ports I've ever played. But one small thing: the CPU governor has to be set up in the performance mode. Otherwise, you'll see shuttering.
