Cradle, A Fantastic Looking 3D Adventure Game Shows Linux Progress

Glad to see this being finally released! Like Xpander, I've been following this game since I saw it on Unigine's showcase page(which still lists release date in 2012), but updates have been few and far between.

I bought SR and S: DF and I'm definitely buying this once the paypal link shows up. Also backed PoE and T:ToN and even though I missed backing Wasteland 2, just got it on Christmas steam sale for the same price so I'll definitely have a lot of cRPG's on my plate this year!

And my wallet is already feeling the casualties ;).

Picked up

for 15€ total

Planning to pick up whatever will be on sale for dirt cheap from my wishlist [External Link].

Ended up getting Planetary Annihilation with 80% discount and The Journey Down: Chapter One with 50% discount since it's so cheap anyway.

Quoting: SkarjakI really like how you kept reloading while out in the open. :p
that's no problem unless you're stationary. i more reminisced on mgo times where people were trying to sneak with gun lamp turned on;) i don't know if lamp is registered by the game or not. hell, it wasn't in demon's/dark souls so it might not be here as well. what do i know since i don't own this game yet;)

still, good old mgo times
Yes, the lamp is registered by the game and the bots react to it. It's not advisable at all to use it unless you absolutely have to, just like IRL ;)

Quoting: nitroflowAs it stands now it's playable on my gtx 750 ti in full hd at max settings, but it's not yet optimized. They also need to optimize loading times because it's a loadfest as you go from the world map to other scenes and vice-versa, it can take over 30s loading a city and random encounters on the world map take about 6-9s.
That was my last hesitation... What the Linux client will be like? The beta of the beta? If the graphics performances are as good as you say it (not the load time), I'm a buyer.
The linux client is like the windows client AFAIK. They both have the same version number.

Quoting: Skully1st - it uses the Unity engine. Which rings alarm bells in my head. It's performance is abysmal for anything other than simple games like side scrolling platformers.(even in windows)
Only a couple of devs have ever proved it can be done (eg. Interstellar Marines, Verdun) but even still those game would have been better in virtually any other modern engine.
I agree with you but when they started Unreal 4 wasn't yet out and they picked unity because they could quickly throw out a working concept thanks to the unity store.

TinyKeep MacOSX and Linux ports
Now that v1.2 is out in the wild, I will be working on MacOSX and Linux ports for Steam. As I'm using Unity, this should be fairly straightforward, and the only obstacle I can see right now is to make sure controller support is working properly for these platforms.

If anyone wants to test TinyKeep out on these platforms, let me know. You will need to have the game already in your library to be eligible.

Cheers!

Quoting: boomanIts hard to tell in the video if its an action combat game or turn-based combat.
I'ts not turn-based but it's not action combat either. You have a default auto-attack using the equipped weapon and then you have a customizable hotbar where you can place abilities and consumables. You can set it up like a traditional hotbar with locked skills that have a cooldown or you can set it up like a card based system where the hotbar is auto filled with the abilities on your deck that get replaced on a timer or whenever you use an ability, or you can mix it up by having locked slots with auto filling ones.

I backed them on kickstarter too. I went for the full 5 games though as I expect the single player alone will be worth the discounted price of $120($24 per game/expansion)
