Exclusively for SteamOS is a bit confusing.. AFAIK every game on Steam has to have a Windows version and SteamOS without Linux support wouldn't make sense. So there is only this said minor difference.

Well, nothing really new since they already run fine in ScummVM but I guess it's nice to have a stand alone installer

I don't know why adventure games became so popular though. Classics like Monkey Island and Indiana Jones were highly popular even back then and consoles are not that widespread like in the USA or Japan.

Since CryEngine supports Linux, they already announced support for it and Deep Silver having brought some games to Linux, I think chances are quite good.
