Valve limit key requests from developers if it isn't "worth the cost"

Quoting: GuestValve shouldn't have to provide downloads, VAC, updates and servers to millions of gamers for free while the developers who should be funding it, cash in from other sites/companies/stores.
Apps on the MS store, can only be bought on the MS store.
Quite a massive difference between the 2.
I hold my hands up & say I've never used the MS store so I have no idea how it works.

F1 2017 could be on the way to Linux, as Feral Interactive want to see demand for it

If they bring out Total War Warhammer 2, heck any Total War or Warhammer game that I don't already have & I'll be all over them, I really don't do driving games, I have a couple including F1 2015 but I'd much rather have a good fantasy/scifi game with an immersive storyline & loads of bad guys to hack to bits or shoot.

ARK: Survival Evolved updated with the latest 'Unreal Rendering code', still terrible on Linux

Have we learnt nothing from when the magazines were PAID to say a game was the best thing ever when in reality it was turd sandwich?

If a game is great I want to know about it & if it's not worth my money I want to know that too, sugar coating a turd sandwich isn't going to make it taste better.

I really want this game to work well because I want to play it, it has the potential to be a great game for Linux, IF they sort it out instead of sticking their fingers in their ears & shouting lalala at the top of their voices.

Quoting: GuestSounds like typical greedy Valve.
Sounds like Valve clamping down on greedy developers.
Sounds more like Valve trying to do a Microsoft, monopolise all the other stores out of the market. I hope I'm wrong.

Ok I have to admit I was wrong, the game DOES start for me, but the DLC The Centre is the part that crashes the game, I've just tried it again with the same result, Ragnarok, The Island & Procedural maps work, the water looks horrible & the giant light eating black boulders are offputting to say the least.

We Happy Few to launch on April 13th 2018, Linux release will be 'on or shortly after'

I tried an early Windows demo of this & it was VERY VERY creepy, it's like Bioshock & Outlast got together for a quick night of passion & this game was the result, if it ever gets a Linux release I will happily take my daily dose of Joy. ;)

Quoting: mrboeseARK again. Sigh. The only game in my library I actually regret that I have bought it. Can't the developers just drop Linux if they have no intention of supporting it the right way?
And miss out on swindling Linux gamers out of £50 a time?

Quoting: KetilIf we want ark to be fixed, I think we must give ark the victories they get intended or not. That way they are less likely to see us as a mistake, too much support for too few buyers. Maybe it is too late, or maybe not. I hope it is not, because I believe this game can be fixed, and if it gets fixed, then it will be quite awesome.
Victories? ok here's a victory they'll love, I'm getting none of the problems Liam is getting, there's your victory, of course the damn game doesn't run anymore on my machine, but at least I'm not getting any of the problems Liam is getting.

eit: further on in this thread I found out the game is working, mostly, but the performance is still way off what it should be by now.

I'm stuck on almost everything,

Mad Max = gotta win a race to progress the story
Tomb Raider = keep being killed by trees
Shadow of Mordor = stuck trying to kill the second war chief
Xcom 2 = still haven't played the first one yet
Borderlands games = stuck at the beginning on both
Dead Island games = haven't played them enough to get past the tutorials
Company of Heroes 2 = haven't even looked at it yet
Dungeons 2 = still on the tutorial
War for the Overworld = same as Dungeons 2
Overlord games = never even finished them in Windows
Day of the Tentacle = haven't played it yet
Full Throttle = stuck in the same spot as the original
Life is Strange = haven't finished Episode 1 yet
Hitman = YAY actually finished the main storyline
Total War Warhammer = haven't played it enough to get past the tutorial
Victor Vran = Finished the main storyline, still need to buy the DLCs

What with going to the Doctors & Hospital every other week & everything else life seems to be throwing at me I just don't have the time to play anything to get anywhere at the moment.
