Shame this doesn't list fixing lockups. For the past decade across multiple Linux computers, usually when downloading something more than 10GB, Steam on Linux for me has locked up the entire computer intermittently even on i9s with great SSDs and 64GB RAM. Not a showstopper, just pause downloads between locks and only resume when you no longer need the computer... but it trumps Chrome with bad resource management and impact when it comes to downloading despite how many controls there are to try to get Steam to have a non-impactful footprint

The main thing I want to see is making the shell easier to replace to make it easier for everyone to rock their own transparent shell or shell color of their own choosing. The LED version requires a hair dryer and some have reported accidentally destroying audio wiring as I recall. I believe there’s an EU mandate in place in 2027 around easily replaced batteries anyways so I’d peg nextgen in 2027 or earlier

"We could reallocate the people on experimental projects that aren't paying off to new experimental projects and then we have a workforce that has the lessons learned from the prior experiments, but it's much easier to layoff people and have to onboard a bunch of new people, surely"

Framework email customers for data breach from accounting partner getting phished

You're also ignoring whole fields of attacks that don't require the user to install new software like cross site scripting or supply chain attacks. Or general software vulnerabilities like Heartbleed
Linux isn't some magical impenetrable system, that's why you have software like ClamAV since 2002 and any number of other mitigations.
The accountant here isn't stupid; reading inbetween the lines they had a very convincing phishing email because the attacker knew they had access to Accounts Receivable data for a particular client, knew what to ask for, and knew who the CEO was to impersonate.
Presumably they wanted this info because then they could then phish customers that their preorder shipment was being withheld unless they sent whatever money owed to the attacker instead

Quoting: LachuLinux do not allow to install software without provide an password by default. It does though. Both my Fedora system and Steam Deck allow me to install software w/o a password by default. I don't think Steam Deck even has you set up a system password during setup, just a button based pin to unlock it.

Quoting: ahoneybunThanks for the clarification. It's not mentioned on the product pages, but I found it is referenced in the assembly wiki [External Link] and it looks quite painful, but at least it's there I guess. With the Fractal cases I can easily slide out the bottom dust filter, clean, and slide back in (likewise for front and top). No screws, no having to remove the PSU or fans. System76 opted for a filter design that requires disassembly to clean both the case's PSU and bottom fan intakes which makes it painful to do monthly cleanings (I live in an area with dust storms):Quoting: raggytherecondI like System76 and their mission, but no cleanable dust filters anywhere is a no buy, especially when they're recommending air based CPU coolers. At less than half the price I can get a Fractal Meshify 2 Compact that has easily removable and cleanable top/front/bottom dust filters. I'd be willing to swallow the 2x price if System76 had filters. There are dust filters for the case fans.
Maybe by the time I need to do a new build they'll have dust filters
Steps to replace the power supply dust filter:
1. Remove the top case and remove the power supply.
2. Unscrew the four screws holding the dust filter onto the chassis.
3. Remove, clean, and replace the dust filter.
