Quoting: mastereduWell you could buy it via a proxy or something, and than get the illegal version online, is that O.K? Because im totaly not ok with setting up my whole steam library for a strange proxy that I dont know in the end of the world, with poor downstream performance + all the errors I am going to expierience in future.Yeah Steam can cut your account for trying to get around region restrictions.

You're not taking a physical product, but you are denying them money that they have rightfully earned, (Assuming you would have bought the product if the pirated version didn't exist.) That is no different from getting someone to weed your garden and not paying them for it.
But worse than that you are screwing it up for not only yourself, but everyone else as well. If everyone pirated, none of us would have anything. So if you don't see it as stealing, you sure as hell are freeloading off everyone else.
If the product isn't available in your region however, then by all means, Pirate away.

looks good! I must say though, the city portions of Dead island were my least favorite, so I'll wait and see with this one. Also pity there isn't going to be any split screen. This would be epic on a big screen with a friend.
Lutris Open Gaming Platform New Release

- Knowing where it is if you ever need to download it again.
- Steam achievements and steam workshop
- DLC- you can only buy dlc for games that you bought on steam.
- don't need other more invasive forms of DRM
- security of knowing they will probably be around a long time, so you probably wont lose your purchase from the company going under/ or service being discontinued.
- I like Steam.

Quoting: FutureSutureYeah I'm one of those. However there is good reason to only buy with Steam, apart from having your collection in one place:I can understand the reasoning of wanting to have all your games to launch in one place, so it will be fun to see where the project goes.I understand the reasoning as well. One would be shocked at just how many people want to buy their games from Steam or a place that sells games redeemable through Steam just to have them all in one place. Then again, you can already launch games not bought on Steam through Steam as well but that has not persuaded the aforementioned people from purchasing games not redeemable on Steam, strangely.

GOL’s first monthly hardware survey EDIT

I decided not to take the survey, seeing as how there were only a few spots available. While I would love to play games on Linux, my graphics card is no longer supported, so I have to stick to windows. As soon as I get a new rig, that will change, but right now that will just skew the results.

I don't know much about the technology, but I wonder if it would be possible to combine something like the wii/move motion controller concept into these controllers for finer aiming. so move with your trackpad/analog stick, but fine aim by shifting the actual controller. Is the technology at the place yet where it can pick up subtle movements without needing an eye?

Quoting: wleoncio+1 for multiplayer games always remembering to include a Co-op mode. I have so much more fun playing next to my brother than with dozens of strangers online.Absolutely. I think I own every split screen title that's available, which is a sad few by the way. Now with steam streaming and big picture, and massive TVs, a lot more pc games are going to be moving into the lounge. Hopefully the devs get on board.

Man I had fun with that game. Definitely one of the better ones I've played. Now all they need is a split screen option for some serious couch co-op @ss kicking.
I wonder if that means the Chrome engine will eventually be ported. I hope so. I've been proudly holding out on Windows XP, which means a lot of newer titles no longer run on my system, and techland's Hellraid and Dying light look awesome. I would love to take those for a spin in Linux.
