With a Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, I hope Valve make a Steam Deck 2

the wifi 6 specs and its range in footage along with some not yet utilized specs in the oled version could potentially elude to it. which in my opinion would be a decent prospect. Especially since deckard has been in the works for a little over 2 years now.

Quoting: spacemonkeyI would prefer "Deckard" (rumored portable VR headset) over a Steam Deck 2.when the oled was being touted by quite a few before its release that it was going to be the 2.0, when i went looking through the documents that were available, there is potential that the deckard tv box is likely in the works, and there is a possibilty that it could also be compatible with the next steam deck as well. (My personal speculation based on what i read, but not a definite)

I don't expect a Steam deck 2 for quite some time, after all the oled version which is a fairly huge jump in performance, battery life, and a whole lot of newer features that are still being updated and added as we go. I look at the oled version as the 'real' 1.0 and it only came out a few months ago. My son has both the initial release, and the limited edition oled. I'm currently waiting so i can pick up my 2nd steam deck yet, first oled version.
I haven't even touched my pc (with a dying video card) since i got the original steam deck in 2022 and the steam deck has completely replaced my pc, since i always use it docked for everything in desktop mode. mouse, keyboard, hotass setup with extra power passthrough hubs connected with external drives as well. Maybe a bit more of an investment than "just" a deck but very powerful overall, that is likely being under-utilized to be honest.
The only real additional update i'd love to see valve touch on is for desktop users of the steam deck specifically, we need an updated steam deck docking station with fans so the dock doesn't overheat routinely since i've had to purchase a fan and have it constantly pointed at the back of the dock always running in the background

Technically, nothing has been changed, It still has the tag on the store page on steam of "Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)" There has been no rollback, just a no go for today and the 30th so far. The fight is not over until we get the rest of the helldivers back from the countries that were locked out of the psn network.

hmm, so far i've had no issues whatsoever in the past 16 months with battlenet on steam deck, sure they might now be owned by microsoft, but the online games microsoft purchased are licensed out to ubisoft for the next five years. that would definitely explain the issues that others are having with loaders (although i haven't had any myself) since ubisoft loaders break constantly
We may see a Steam Deck refresh with WiFi 6E

Since Deckard (the new vr headset) was leaked near the end of last year 2022, and other information also includes images showing a vr headset and a "tv box" My bet is that this is NOT a new steam deck version but the heart of the new vr system that deckard hooks up with that is also based in the steam os architecture
