Two Worlds II Action RPG Will Apparently Still Be Ported To Linux

I don't care if a game is a bit old when it gets ported. There are plenty of games from my days as a PS3 player that I would love to see on Linux.
I don't want ONLY the old games, but a healthy mix of both new and older games is fine with me. It's a pleasure to build up my game library.
I think it also indicates that somebody somewhere is serious about making Linux gaming a Thing. I don't know if it's Gabe or what, but the fact that this push is resonating through the entire industry is a big deal. Note that the dev said:

...and after this Linux ports of all games possible.Linux ports of all games possible ?? Now that's saying something.

I ran into that same @ symbol bug in another game... I don't remember which. But I do remember that I worked around it by re-mapping a key temporarily to send an 'at @ at @' symbol.
Probably not worth doing just for the bug reporter though :-)

I understand that Linux (and Mac, for that matter) users have the burden of proving that we will buy games and make it worth while for devs to port games to our platform. But if you do a kickstarter and you say you'll port something to Linux and people give you money predicated on that fact..... then that's what you do.
This "well, we didn't ever plan to port to linux until late" excuse just does not matter. They agreed to do it. They spent backers' money, so they have a contract to fulfill. I don't really understand, to be honest, how Kickstarter is immune to standard business laws.

I don't know if I ever got any kind of survey, either at install or otherwise. I thought by 'survey' the article meant that Steam surveys the hardware bing used to download games, in the background.

The Steam Uplink thing smells suspiciously like a "we weren't serious about moving to Linux, so here's a router so you can keep using Windows on your real machine but stream stuff to your tv". A stopgap, basically, until tv's become non-stupid and actually allow you to stream stuff to them as part of their design, like they should already be doing.
Hopefully I'm wrong, and it's just a backwards-compatible layer to ease people into a full SteamOS solution.
The controller will be amazing, I can't wait.

Looks amazing! Definitely getting this as soon as it hits Linux. I was nervous when I read that it departed from the 2d platforming, because all too often a game just throws that in because they think everyone needs 3d worlds to enjoy games, but this looks like a serious addition with lots of actual added gameplay value. I definitely want to spend time in that world.
New Linux Gaming Survey For March

Valve is shooting themselves in the foot by not producing their own Steam Machine and marketing it like there's no tomorrow. Beyond it being Linux, Steam as a console OS is their brand identity. They should not put that in the hands of random PC makers.
I will probably buy one in the future, although I got tired of waiting and built my own gaming rig for now. I'm also very eager to finally get a Steam controller.

The graphs are interesting, I'd kind of like to see the numbers in text form though; much easier to skim.
I also use KDE. As others have said, it's so configurable at this point that you can hide or de-activaite the parts you don't like, design your own desktop, and let it just keep out of your way.
