Sony PlayStation reportedly moving away from PC ports

I bought Stellar Blade for PC, but there was no way I was ever buying a Playstation or ever will.
Looks like they don't want my money going forward. Interesting business decision for out of touch millionaire execs. They don't live in world where not everyone wants to spend their limited money on consoles. I give it 3 years before they announce PC ports again.

Firefox 148.0 arrives with AI controls

Final result seems fine. I assume Mozilla needs the AI hype money to stay in business.
I am not a fan of having AI force fed to me. I did like that they didn’t configure it so that if I want use translations, I had to turn on all AI features.

Steam Deck completely out of stock in the US, Canada and Asia

Hopefully this does not stall the momentum of Linux on gaming devices. Proton and Steam Deck were driving adoption. Every deck sold was a potential new Linux user. We need more users, to demand more support from studios.

Firefox will get AI controls to turn it all off

It is a good thing many people complained about the AI additions. If we didn't complain, then the disable feature would never have been implemented or if it was you would never find it. They would add it to some config file.

Quoting: scaineI always find the disconnect between enterprise/management and the general public on GenAI absolutely amazing.
It blows me away that no one in the Marketing Department says, “There are people out there that passionately hate GenAI. Maybe we should spin this differently. We will probably get flamed for this.” Instead it’s, “lets run with a press release that says we are cheap, evil and don’t care about our employees.”

[quote=Eike]I just bought Another Lost Phone: Laura's Story because they are going to remove it from Steam, and it was heavily discounted. It's, well, ... more "Lost Phone".

I just picked the bundle, thanks for the tip. Years ago I played through Simulacra and enjoyed it. Sounds like it may be similar.

The RAM price and availability situation is going to worsen as Micron pull their Crucial consumer business

Quoting: ChuckaluphagusI've bought Crucial RAM for decades, and quite a few Crucial SSDs over the past fifteen years. A shame to see it go.
I have bought Crucial products for decades and they were always reliable. Too bad I will have to switch to another brand.
How many people will go back to Crucial when the bubble finally bursts and they need real customers? This is probably a bad long term business decision.

According to Epic CEO Tim Sweeney - game stores don't need an AI label as it will be everywhere

If AI was not identified, how would I know if a game was actually worth spending $80.00 on it. (Other than all the extra fingers on the characters) Half the labour input should = half the selling price. Why would I pay full price for slop?
