Aspyr Media Are Close To Breaking Even On Linux Ports

Good news indeed. I'd like to support them and their endeavours, however I already own Borderlands 2 from way back when and I have no interest in Civilization or Geometry Wars. D'oh.

Insurgency FPS Is Waiting On Valve So It Can Come To Linux (UPDATED)
10 Nov 2014 at 9:16 am UTC

Quoting: XylemonI thought CS:GO was really developed by another company, and Valve had very little to do with it at all (which also explains why the Linux port was a bit shite when it came out). So isn't this more of Hidden Path Entertainment and the Insurgency team who need to be communicating on this?
No, once the game was finished they handed over all the source code to Valve. Valve is now solely responsible for updates to and maintenance of the game.

Regardless though, as the publisher and owner of the game Valve would still have complete authority over who the code is shared with.

Too bad I missed this. :-( Next time you guys do an event would it be possible to get notified in advance?

I haven't had any crashes or incidents with the game yet either. It runs exceptionally well, even on older hardware. :-)

I have to say that I'm very impressed to see that I'm getting 100+ FPS on a mere GT240. Granted that's at 1024x768, but that's still pretty good considering. :O

I get the distinct feeling that this is an attempt to exploit Linux gamers? Why else would they make such a statement?

Borderlands 2 Also Looks Like It's Coming To Linux, UPDATE: Confirmed

This is fantastic news! Borderlands is hands down one of the best FPSes out there. It's unique and very stylish design makes it not only stand out, but it also allows the game to capture the feel of the Wild West way beyond anything that's found in any of the typical lackluster Western shooters. I honestly can't wait. :-)
